The people in the hostels come from different countries, but they are mostly friendly. We really enjoyed the time staying at this hostel, not only because the cheap price. We did the late check-in, and the staff was really friendly. The room size is acceptable, and it is very quiet in the mid-night. The TV room is great. However, the kitchen is a little bit small compared with other hostels, but we only had our breakfast so it is not a big deal.

as a backpacker for many years.the cleaniness especially the kitchen is always depended on self-discipline of users.I read bad reviews on this hostel before I booked and once had hesitation to reserve it but finally I booked this hostel because of the price and location. But when I moved in, I found that basically the kitchen had been cleaned by their staff everyday, but some of the users left the used pots and dishes in the sink even the unfinished food on the table that made the place dirty.

The kitchen is very small with just four hobs. Not enough for everybody! Also they had bed bugs in the t.v room when we stayed although I do think they have sorted this problem now. It's very cheap but for a reason. If you don't mind roughing it a little then it's fine!

Home backpackers is quiet. cute wall paintings in the corridor. Fridges in the kitchen really needs to be cleaned. And the fire water pipes in the bedroom and bathroom really need to be either cleaned up (all rosty!!) or changed. Please make sure that on the website the "free wifi" is removed as it is actually 4 AUD an hour!

The kitchen was a health hazard with very litle facilities and so dirty. Room was dingy and we were put in a two bed dorm when we paid for a twin/double.

The two blonde female receptionist were extremely helpful (sorry I don't know their names) However I found the housekeeping staff very impolite.

Bedbugs. Many, many, many cockroaches. The walls are cracked, the showers are dirty. No possibility of placing things in the bathroom. The staff would not return the deposit of two keys, we have to insist. Staff not present for check out. No cover, no sheets. Free Internet is a joke.

Nobody can tell me who made the $27 form my account. The attitude is very bad.

Worse hostel I\'ve ever been to. A girl in Melbourne said the same thing. - unclean showers and toilets and too few. - no controle in the kitchen. -laundry/livingroom/kitchentable is not a great solutin. -I have no problem with noise and party, but not really nice to eat breakfest in between old beer bottles the next morning, every morning. -Unclean rooms and broken closet. -with such a big hostel does it seem weired to have no controle after the reception

Worsed place I have stayed at in 6 months. The rooms are dirty, there's rubbish all over the floor and the used bed sheets from previous guests are piled up in the corner. You can feel every spring through the matress and some people apparently caught bed bugs. Bringing this to staffs attention is a complete waste of time.

we booked a room with a double bed, but we got a room with a bunk bed. we also found a cock roach in our room. in front of the window was like a balcony so we couldn't open the window when we went out ... the bathroom is a walk-through room (from the floor to the balcony) and the showers have transparent doors (not very nice!) don't go in when you have the choice! there are better hostels for less money in sydney.
