The dinner with mama was great and well worth the money. The hostel was big but had a small homey feel. It was close to the city centre. Overall, there were small things to change but its a great place and I would definitely stay at home hostel again.

Hostel is close to many important tourist spots such as Rossio Square, Castle of São Jorge and Commerce Square near to the Tagus river. The hostel location is also very convenient as Rossio railway station (to go to Sintra), line 28 trams station and metro stations are all nearby. Staff is very friendly and helpful especially the owner Mamma truly makes you feel home :) I really had a very nice stay at Home Hostel~

It is a great hostel, however they do not have a computer to use. You can use a ipad but it is impossible to upload photos. The portuguese staff is awesome but the brasilian guy is not so nice. The kitchen is very good and well equipeted. The room and the showers were great. The location is perfect. The breakfast is ok.

Let me begin by saying I have stayed at countless hostels over my years of travelling.i have stayed at some stunning places but Home Hostel, is exactly what it's called it feels like home from the greeting when you first walk in the door to the friends you make at Mamas dinner to the staff not just being people you go to pay money and seek advice to but friends. There should be a law to not be able to rate this hostel under 100 on every category.I could list out the positives but I'm out of space

I had the most wonderful time here! It was a quick getaway for me and some friends and this place was ideal. I twas super clean, the staff were so friendly and helpful and showed us a good time! Would definitely recommend the free walking tours, we had someone called Vera show us around...she was excellent and so knowledgeable.

Easily the best hostel I've ever stayed in, an I've stayed in a bunch. You can tell things are new and clean. Nice lounge area, and the rooms were comfortable. Could use a little more space in the bathroom, but that's my only complaint. Only hostel I would ever recommend, it was really nice!

Very nice and helpful staff, great location, clean and very good value for the money. They serve very nice dinner each night which gives you to chance to meet people and even feel you like home. The room I stayed was divided into two part and mine was without window so a bit dark, that would be my little complain. Plus, they are renovating some part at the moment and that makes noise even during the quite early morning. All in all, I recommend this hostel while you discover beautiful Lisbon.

I've stayed in many hostels around Europe but this is THE hostel that really makes me feel like home. The hostel is decorated with family portraits of André(the owner, who fairly represents the charm of potuguese man) and mama, the rooms are open, clean, with all necessities, and everyone I've met here, whether the staff or the travelers, is happy and willing to share their stories(and often u cant tell who lives here or who works here, cuz we r all friends). dont forget to try mama's dinner!

By far the best hostel I've stayed in throughout all of Europe! Home Hostels greets you with the words "Welcome Home!" - and that feeling and openness sticks throughout your entire stay. The location is superb, and the building facilities are fantastic. Rooms are comfortable, kitchen is spacious, and the common room packed with good movies, music and company. The staff - especially "Mama" - is wonderful. The night I left they even gave my friend and I a couple free shots and a toast! Go Home!

A great place to stay in downtown Lisbon close to attractions or a short walk to public transportation routes to other parts of the city. Very friendly staff eager to help or give recommendations on places to check out, dine out etc.... Try Momma's dinner at least once in the hostel, definitely worth it for the cooking and the atmosphere!
