I had the BEST time at Home Hostel! Loved the community atmosphere and all the great people I met. And Mamma's dinner was so delicious and lots of fun. It's also the most comfortable hostel I've ever stayed in by far!

By far this is the best hostel i have ever stayed in compared to other hostels throughout the European countries i have travelled to.. but one thing which is the biggest disappointment in portugal i had with this hostel is the syntra tour, it was a sunny day which i was so looking forward so much sunset in the westernmost part in the portugal or europe, but the tour guide didn't bring us there for sunset and eventually bring us to somewhere else for a sunset which the sun already set..

This hostel is #1 in the world for a reason. I can't fault a single thing - the hostel is in a fantastic location and major transport; the rooms are spacious (with your own curtains, lights and powerpoints); the bathrooms are sparkling clean and smell like hotel bathrooms; the dinners are so lovely and great value - 3 courses!; the breakfast includes *scrambled eggs* plus a great selection of coffees and all the staff members are helpful, friendly and so approachable. Amazing stay!

sometimes its the people make your trips parfait. Here is great, clean, secure, the staffs are really helpful and delightful. They have a really special mama's dinner which make this hostel really like home. And also the walking tour and one day Sintra trip are lovely too. all i can say is I will be back next summer.

Easy enough to see why they are voted number 1 in the world. Best hostel ever! Clean and thoughtful facilities. Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They organise day trips to Sintra. Good spread for breakfast. And the best part - amazingly delicious dinner from Mama! Couldn't ask for more. Thank you so much! :)

The staff and mama make the difference. But also the livingroom and the rooms. Wow :)

Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Lisbon - especially any solo travellers. They make such an effort to incorporate activities (ie. walking tours, mamma's dinners, pub crawls) into their weekly schedule that it is easy for you to meet new people and to be made to feel comfortable and at home (as the name suggests!). Mamma's dinners in particular are an absolutely great way to meet people whilst enjoying a three course meal (with drinks) for only 10 euros.

The common area of this hotel was wonderful! The living room was super comfy and the dining area felt like a cool bar or cafe. Dinners with mama made it really easy to meet other guests and feel at home. Beds were comfy, showers were very good but it was fairly inconvenient to have the girls bathroom facilities located on the completely opposite side of the hostel from the room I was in. But overall wonderful environment and amazing location, plus staff were very helpful with recommendations!

Amazing staff, always welcoming. Amazing location and amazing atmosphere. The Mama's dinners are always good and friendly. A good place to have fun and to meet people for a good price! I understand why it is the best hostel in the world!

Staff are nice and friendly. But not knowledgable enough. Day tour is well arranged. Room are too dark at night so difficult to pack at night time. But the concept is gd that can let everyone goes to living room.

Extremely elegant and super cool hostel to stay in Lisbon. All the staff (I recollect Debrah by name) was very very warm & friendly and always out there at your service. The food by Mama is something to crave for, along with the Portuguese drinks like Ginja/Sangria. I have lived in many hostels across Europe and this one sits right on the top. Cheers! PS: Absolutely loved the idea of having keyless room access strapped on the wrist, that was very handy :)

This hostel is set in a beautiful building. The rooms are spacious and nice. It's a very social place. The bathrooms are clean and adequate. The staff was helpful but not overly friendly. Perhaps because they have the role of both receptionist and bartender, it's hard to ask questions or get served when they're busy. The bar/dining-room/reception feels too small for the amount of guests they accommodate.

As a fellow hostel worker, this place is somewhere to aspire too. Great lounge room, facilities and breakfast.
