A Great hostel within walking distance of the beach with a friendly laid back atmosphere with lots of regulars who know all the good things to do nearby.

Home travellers is affordable and I definitely think you get what you pay for. My friend and I shared a double room and it was clean, comfortable and attractive. It also was well serviced and in a good location. Our only concern was the (loud!) parties every night. After the first night we bought earplugs and slept like babies. So yes, if you want cheap nice accomdation and don't mind noise this place is perfect!

Kitchen was a bit smelly, but good atmosphere especially if you like to drink all day.

We stayed at Home travellers motel for five nights. First night we stayed at a double room, witch was nicer than we ever wished for. Really clean, spaceous and beautifully furnished and decorated. It had tv, fridge, air con and pretty much everything you could wish for. :) The 6-people dorm was also nice and the rooms were cleaned every day. The kitchen was cleaned many times a day, so using the kitchen was ok.

I booked Home for 1 night before going to Tasmania. The hostel & facilities are fine, everything you can expect for budget accommodation, however what makes the place so great and sets it apart from hostels I've visited is the atmosphere.I was welcomed with by a cheery staff member, who introduced my to my room mates, from then on I felt I was amongst friends! The En-suite dorm rooms are clean, with icy air-con and comfy beds. Staff are friendly &knowledgeable about the area. I will be back!!!

I came to the Home Travellers on my own only planning to stay a few days but after being welcomed by the staff there and all of the residents in changed my mind and im booked to stay indefinitely!! I would recommend this place to anyone travelling on there own, ive been there just short of two weeks and it already feels like HOME! The hostel is also in a great location and its just a short walk to the the high street and the beach.

The room had everything that we needed with a comfortable bed. But the second time that we stayed was the St Kilda Festival weekend. When we arrived we found a large number of people already drunk, some men's knickers and 6 TV remotes in the room. During the night a group of people sat on the balcony outside our room having a very loud jolly chat for an hour or so, until someone else complained. During this time there was no sight or sound of any staff. Too bad - needed sleep before long drive.

Awesome time in this hostel. Very easy to meet people. Could do with some shelves next to the beds to put things on and sometimes the male staff were a bit grumpy but generally nice. Would recommend a stay here to any backpacker for sure.

The hostel needs to be cleaned up A.S.A.P. The kitchen is disgraceful and filthy with the dirt, the room wasnt cleaned once in a full week and for the value of $700, we expected a lot lot more. We had to ask for towels and toilet roll all week. We will NEVER EVER stay there again!! and we esp will not recommend this place to anyone!! They need to rip out that kitchen and lounge area, paint the whole building inside and out and have better rules and organisation for the place.

Our original plan was to stay here for 2 nights...and now we\'re booked in for 9 nights and possibly more! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away! There is also a backpackers bar right down the street so entertainment and drinks are near! It is also a short 2 minute walk to the miain street in St. Kilda which has all the essentials..(groceries, drug stores, clothing shops and more!) Over all a really great hostel!
