Nice place, but it's a bit difficult to find the first time. Split into two buildings, but it's close to the Parliament building and a metro station. A few restaurants and things nearby too. Beds were comfy and rooms were decently cool at night. Bathrooms could get a bit nasty though. Wifi only works in the common area.
Overall great hostel! Great beds with curtains, sturdy treasure chest lockers, good breakfasts and dinners! Not a huge hostel so was easy to meet people!
Really enjoyed staying here! They were very accomodating and helpful when we had some difficulties getting there on the first night! Very quick to respond to my email :) Very nice and welcoming staff! Provided a small breakfast for us every morning and dinner some nights which was lovely. Very easy to get to from the train station & very local to everything! Beds were nice - each bed had a personal lamp, power plug and curtain for some privacy! Loved it!
I can't say anything but positive things about the staff. They were very friendly and exceedingly helpful when I had an issue the first night. I liked the people and the atmosphere of the hostel. The pub crawl was great and the free dinners/breakfasts were nice touches. The one suggestion I might have for the future is bath mats. The showers could get slippery and mats would take care of the wet floor problem. It would also add to the homey feeling. Would definitely stay again.
This has been my favourite hostel- it has a real family feel with a communal kitchen to chill around. The bedrooms are big and each bed has its own curtains which gives privacy. Location wise, it's by Parliament square which has the train links whilst 2 minute walk from the main tram stops. The clubs are on the main road, a five minute walk away and therefore really accessible. I would advice booking tickets through the hostel whenever possible to save queuing time
Small hostel but staff are very helpful and friendly and facilities are well kept. Slightly out of the way to the North but good tram links/
Lovely lady at the reception - place is a little confusing as it is made up of 3 buildings with 2 receptions... My room was weird but cool because it was a single private
The name says it all! HomeHostel is definitely a second home away from home considering it's over all ambiance and structure. There is only one common area to mingle, of which everyone is able to meet everyone. Only issue I had was that they were understaffed at times and the facilities were not the greatest. Besides that, great location and great vibes.
This was by far the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The privacy curtains around the beds created a perfect space for individual time if wanted, but if you entered the common room/kitchen you were certain to meet many other travelers excited to talk. It is an easy hostel to both stay in or go out at, as both types of people are present. Just a warning, one of the rooms is right next to the tram, which can get loud. But seeing as that is the only complaint I can find, definitely stay here!
Extremely friendly staff and a very cosy hostel with a range of good facilities

Great hostel. Felt like I was actually living in Budapest. Free dinner was great! Staff was extremely helpful, met tons of great people. Walking tour was poor, but met people during the tour which made it better.
Lockable drawers in the rooms would be good
Really nice hostel! The people at the desk was super nice and helpful. They serve you free food on certain days which is great! It's quite a small hostel but the rooms are big, with like 16 people in each, and that was so much fun! We met a bunch of really nice people. Good breakfast, good beds with curtains, if you'd like some privacy. The only downside was that the floor of the shower and toilet got a bit dirty and wet so in the end you didn't want to go in there without shoes.
Had a good stay. Facilities are clean and the common room makes it easy to meet people! Would recommend.
really nice but only 2 toilets in the middle of the common area? only problem
Loved it. Especially the fact that you had a guitar on site! The staff were very kind and atmosphere friendly.

This hostel was a great place to stay in Budapest! It was kind of a hike with my backpack from the train but once I got there it was in a central location, and the city proved to be very walkable. Go on the free walking tour and take advantage of the free dinners.
Pretty great atmosphere, beds, great staff, free Friday meal, very secure would recommend.
