Very good hostel. The rooms were clean and you felt very secure. The owner, Mary, is lovely and always ready to help out. The rest of the staff were great as well. The only complaint, depending on what kind of atmosphere you are looking for, is the lack of a common area, so it can be difficult to meet the guests staying int he other rooms. Which would be fine if you were looking for a nice quiet time with no distractions. But overall, I had a very nice time and highly recommend it.

the staff is excellent! and very helpful. While the rooms do not have much character, they do have a mini kitchen for eating or fixing one's own meals. I would recommend staying at the Hongdae Guesthouse when in Seoul.

A fantastic hostel in the middle of Seoul. Henry and Mary go out of their way to make you feel at home. This is my second stay at Hongdae Guesthouse, and it will not be my last.

Excellent location with reasonable price. But lack of atmosphere of hostel. Just a room in an office building. Doesn't have any living room or sort to mingle with other guests. The security pin number for every room is the same. Not secured at all.

this is Mary, the host of hongdae guesthouse. Happy new year^^ let me feedback to you. thanks for staying with us. you stayed with friends here having your own private room for only your group for one night. we have a big check room and its also for our guests. so people come over the room for breakfast and drink beer with others. and this building is an apartment unit building. not only for office, which means people live in the building and also use it as office to work. The code for entering the room, we never ever made it all the same for security for each room and we change every time we have new guest also for security reason. We are just wondering how did you get the idea that all the room has the same cord to enter? Would you please kindly tell us? If thers's a reason to look it that way, we will try to improve it for other guest to stay safely and it's gonna be a big help for us from you. Thank you. from Mary, the host of Hongdae guesthouse
