Chiloe was cold and rainy, but it was warm and sunny inside with Mirta. She set me up with a cozy room and an electric blanket, had me over for tea, made me practice my spanish, went to great lengths to help me set a tour up for myself of the island. They are super close to the bus station, and a little walk to town, but I haven't had many hostel owners as great and helpful as Mirta.

I had a wonderful stay at Hospedaje Austral and I was instantly treated very well upon my arrival. Mirta and Pedro will bend over backwards to help you plan day trips and save money everywhere on Isla Chiloe. There are several bathrooms to choose from and the rooms are great. I would say this is a great place to stay and would definitely go back!

The hostel really nice, quiet and clean. The owners (Pedro and Mirta) are sweet and warm and always available to help you and answer your questions. They have a complete knowledge of the area and plenty of ideas and good will. The hostal is also very close from the bus station, and transportation to downtown is also close. I will definitely recommend this place.

The hostel is a beautiful cabin, the rooms and bathrooms are clean. I wouldn't recommend it to young people as alcohol is prohibited both in the rooms and the common areas. Breakfast is one fixed time and is weak coffee and a tiny piece of bread.

We had a great stay at the hostel. The hosts are exellent and help you make the most of your stay on ChiLoe, they told us lots of great tips about where to visit and organised tours for us. They also went out of there way to help us woth moving to our next location. The hostel is clean and there are plenty of bathrooms. I would definatley recomend staying at the hostel.

Spotless rooms and clean bathrooms. Bedding a bit old though. Owners are really helpful. Location is perfect for taking buses around the island but is a 20 min walk from Ancud centre No kitchen.

This place was always freezing COLD (even on the rare sunny days in Ancud!), very basic and with no common area. Breakfast was almost nothing: 2 cold bread bread pieces and a cup of very pale coffee or tea. And because it was made by someone else you could not even decide how much milk you wanted in your coffee or how much jam on the bread! The owner appears like a kind and friendly lady for the first ten mins, then becomes obnoxious and treats you like a 5 y.o. and calls you a 'gringo'...

Very friendly helpful owners. Hostel is very near bus station but is a long walk to the town where the restaurants are.
