I can't review the hostel as the booking was messed up (by Hostelworld probably) - if you book 3 non-consecutive nights, then people get confused. Anyway, I was escorted around the city, staying in 3 different places in 5 nights, two of them were the replacements for Ibai, and they were excellent!

This place was very clean and in a great location. The owners went out of their way to help me with my bags and giving me dircetions. I would definitely go back!

Fantastic location at the heart of the "casco viejo". Super clean, super nice and accommodating staff. I have been there twice in the last two years, and this is the first place I look at when I have to go to San Sebastian.

Great location right in the historical area between the beaches. Very clean. No common area, more of a 'ma and pa' style guest house. This made meeting other guests difficult, if you're there to party a bit consider somewhere else like enjoyss etc. No English speakers which can be difficult. Wi-fi didn't work well in our room. Wouldn't hold our luggage past 2pm, put us in a tight spot with an 11pm bus. No complimentary breakfast.

Hospedaje Ibai is not a party hostel, so do not rent a room here thinking that it will be a party. It is, however, a very nice place to stay. It feels more like a guest house than a hostel. The rooms are clean and bright and the bathrooms are spotless. The owner does not speak English, but she deals with English clients often enough that she can communicate. My only complaint is the noise - I am not a light sleeper, but people downstairs (in a different hostel) were very noisy at night.

Directions from train station to hostel could improve and how to find the apartment. Ie press bell, enter Building and head to second level, knock on the door! We had a lot of trouble with that! Our room was clean, as were the bathrooms. Never had to wait long as there were three toShare. Great location in the old part of the town. 5min walk to The beach. Our room had little to no natural light which was depressing. But we had fresh towels daily and our beds made! Good experience!
