Hostal 25-59 is run by a local Colombian family and offers 8 comfortable beds with a shared bathroom. The hostel has a lounge area with a plasma screen, satellite TV, WiFi and a chill out area; a kitchen, bicycles for rent, laundry service, a secure place to store valuables and a traditional Colombian lunch and dinner menu. All guests also receive a complimentary orange juice every morning.
Mahi-Mahi Snorkeling Eco tours works closely with Hostel 25-59 offering its guests personalised water sports packages (scuba, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, surfing and harpoon fishing) in deserted spots along the Islas del Rosario.
The reception is manned 24 hours by the family who speak Spanish, English and French. Their local knowledge and contacts are invaluable and their open armed friendliness makes even the fleeting guest feel at home.

The first thing you need to know about this hostel is that it is very, very small! That being said, the facilities are new and clean, the people who run it (Julian, Christian, and Sandra) are incredibly friendly and helpful, and if you're looking for a quiet place from which to explore Cartagena from, this is it. The owners are in the process of expanding the hostel into a Boutique hotel, meaning this quiet gem in Getsemani won't be around too much longer.
