We really enjoyed our stay at Akumal! It is a small and friendly hostel, convenient location and Chandra is the BEST HOSTEL DOG EVER!!! Erick is awesome, and goes out of his way to be accommodating - he cooked us breakfast when we arrived early one morning, and even let us leave our bags and hang out while we waited for a night bus. Highly recommended. Thank you!!

A Lovely, homely hostel where nothing is too much trouble. A special place to spend xmas with delicious food and great company! We hope to see you and Chandra again soon.

este hostal fue construido en una casa y al entrar se siente como una. Los duenios estan atentos a lo que necesites y pregutas que tengas, todos son muy chidos y en general en ambiente es muy agradable y tranquilo. Puedes subir al techo a ver el atardecer y fumar o tomarte una cerveza, Hay desayunos muy ricos y tienen una labrador muy linda! ahi avisen cuando abran su hostal en oaxaca para ir!!

What really makes this place is the management. The hostel itself is average, and theres a dog that maybe barks a little too much, but Erik is the most helpful owner I´ve ever encountered, cooking breakfast and even letting me keep my stuff after I´ve checked out. I´ve only had one more positive hostel experience, and that price (SF) couldn´t compare to this. Highly recommended.

It is a good place where to stay . It would be nice to see sunset at the roof ,though I missed it all the time .highly recommend you to stay and have deep talk with Eric. Thx.

Small but hearty hostel with a good couple as owners. It is more like staying with a family then a paid hostel.

Akumal is a great place to stay because of Eric - he is so helpful and makes the BEST breakfasts and gives honest, useful advice! Chandra the dog is adorable too. we had a great stay. would recommend this place, location is really good too.
