My stay at Hostel Yaras was awesome. Richard, the owner, is a very kind and warm person, he immediately welcomed me with a cup of coffee. The house is really nice, and if you are looking for some peace in a quiet place, Hostal al yaras is for you. The breakfast, with all kinds of homemade jams, is delicious! And if you need any kind of information about places to visit, Richard will tell you all you need about Elqui and its outskirts! 10/10 !!!!
Great place, great staff. Close to the Guayacan brewery, a bus stop, and beautiful scenery.

Richard was a wonderful and attentive host who provided excellent home made food. He was very accomodating and attentive to the needs of the guests. The view at the hostal is to die for. Cool place and highly recommended
Excellent Hostel!!! location is epic, in the middle of elqui valley between vicuna and pisco, so you are not in a tourist honey pot and really can enjoy the valley!! bus stops 3mins from the house so i could get to pisco quite fast! Breakfast is more than awesome, the best one I got in a hostel upto now!!, the owner even serves scrambled eggs, besides fresh goat cheese and home made jams…. !! Everything is clean and well maintained!! Totally recommended!!!
The owner is very welcoming and helpful. His breakfast is amazing, probably the best we had and a lot of it was homemade (yogurt, jams, fig juice). The room was clean, kitchen/eating area was a little cluttered and messy but not too bad. My main complaint is that the room was cold at night and could have used a space heater. Also, we could not get the bathroom door to close. The location is beautiful, off the beaten path, but easy to reach by bus with a little effort and question asking.
If you are after a tranquil and relaxed place to chill, then this the hostel for you. Diaguitas is the only other town in walking distance, if you want to get to Vicuna or Pisco Elqui then you'll need to catch a bus but they are frequent, cheap and a 5 minute walk from the Hostel. Richard the owner is an interesting guy and is helpful in providing you info for your stay, he is also a great cook. The room lovely and spacious - I was upgraded as I was the only one there for my stay. Recommend.
