Great Atmosphere in middle of The Elqui Valley, if you are looking for a place to rest and get disconnected of the city that place is here. The hospitality is awesome makes you feel at home, the volunteers are really friendly! and the breakfast is cool, because everything is natural. Richard the owner take cares of every detail in the hostel, there are a lot of families that goes every summer and backpackers too.

I had a very memorable stay in the hostel. The gal, Kennee who manage the hostel was one of the best I have come across and I travel quite a bit. Will highly recommend it.

Despite an initial mix up with our booking, we had a great 4 nights at Hostal Al Yaris. Yes it is remote (especially if you don't have a car) but that's what we were looking for - to relax in nature. Bus connections are fine and it is possible to buy supplies nearby and cook in the kitchen. We stayed over New Years and enjoyed Richard and Melissa's hospitality and a great fiesta! The breakfast was an amazing spread of homemade products and the gardens are great to relax in. Recommended!

The hostel is located a few km's from Vicuña but is very easy to get to by the local buses, which run all day between Vinuña and Pisco Elqui. It's in a peaceful location with nice, shady outdoor areas and is an easy place to relax and loose a few days! Only negatives were that the dorm wasn't super clean, the mattress I had was very worn and uncomfortable and there were no lockers in the dorm.
