Excellent location and friendly staff who helped create a pleasant atmosphere despite it being low season and having few guests. Everything was clean and the nice central courtyard makes it easy to meet and socialise with other travellers.

Hostal Alcatraz was VERY COMFORTABLE and not just the bed! It is small, friendly, clean, secure, centrally located... There{s a pleasand central garden next to the kitchen where you can eat and realax. The Staff, especially Rosa who has been there 10 years, welcome you like you had finally arrived home. Have already recommended it to several friends - even some in San Miguel who don{t have space for guests. PS for those retirees who are travelling...I\'m 70+

I had a most wonderful experience! My only comment is that there is one bathroom for 10 beds! There is an additional bathroom downstairs, which I used a couple of times when guests were more frequent on the weekends. The staff were great I WOULD highly recommend this place. Violeta Abitia

Great value for a place to crash, 5-10 minute walk to the Jardin. Staff are helpful and the place is really clean.
