We only stayed there for 1 night, but it was perfect. Patrick is very helpful and it felt more like a homestay than a hostel.

Patrick picked us up at the airport at 1:30 in the morning with a smile on his face and I never saw him without a smile in the 3 days we stayed in this hostal. He guided us through the metro bus system which made touring Panama City a breeze. BTW, Patrick, we still have your bus card and will be mailing it back as soon as possible. My husband wants to know what kind of coffee you served; he loved it. Thanks to you and your mother for getting our Central American trip off to such a great start!

Patrick picked us up at the airport and was Really friendly. He also gave us some initial information about panama. We booked the private room with ensuite shower and toilet and with a/c. Breakfast was very good, fresh fruits, eggs and toast. You can also get coffee for free if you like. They offer you to use a computer and you can enter their wifi. Carola, the owner, was really nice and even took us a hundred kilometers with her own car because she was also going there for free.

Patrick and his mom are super nice! He'll show you around panama and can pretty much get you anything you need. Just ask!

We have only good things to say about the hostel and the owner Carola and Patrick. Carola and Patrick are very lovely and were super helpful. They really made us feel their home is our home! They also offered very reasonable priced drop-off/pick-ups at the airport. A stay at this hostel comes with a great breakfast, not just a pancake mix and instant coffee. A great start to the day. We hope that any future travels to Panama will take us back to Hostal Aleman.

we felt that the staff wasnt so helpful. we came back from san blass and I was very sick with high fever and asked for just taking a shower at the shared bathroom and she said that I cant. only after my friends presuasion they agreed but made us feel uncomfortable. besides, the brakefast was good. didnt like the location.

my stay at alman hostel was very warm and welcome...the family that runing that business is doing a wonderful job... i most be back as i am in transit.....i was well please..

We felt like in the friend's house. Great atmosphere, helpful staff and tasty breakfast. I higlhy recommend.

It was a very nice place to stay for a couple days. Patrick was helpful and always willing to assist me with anything I required. It is close to the airport which made it easy to get to since my flight arrived after 2:00am. If I had know how easy the bus system was to use in Panama City I may have stayed with them for more days. They really are not so far outside the downtown area once you know how to use the cheap $0.25 buses and the better city buses that use the cards-overall Great Hostel

Partick and Carola are ever so sweet and helpful with everything you need. The place is spotless clean and the kitchen just a dream - not a single thing missing, you got everything you need to prepare whichever meal you could imagine. The only thing is the location, it is a bit far from the sights so you gotta catch the bus or a taxi and traffic in Panama City is just a nightmare! But then, the area is very safe. Next time I am in Panama, I will definately stay there again.

The hostel was located in a very nice residential neighborhood, so in terms of security and feeling safe to walk around at night at was great. The downside was that it was pretty far away from all the tourist attractions and downtown so you had to pay a bit more in cab fare. Patrick and his mother couldn't have been sweeter and more helpful though. I would definitely recommend staying here!

GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN PANAMA CITY FOR A FEW DAYS.LOCATION IS SAFE AND YOU CAN CATCH A BUS ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO GO.THEY HAVE 2 SUPERMARKETS AT WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE HOSTAL.OTHER PLACES TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT.STUFF SPEAKS EXELENT ENGLISH ,GERMAN AND SPANISH.THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL.WE WILL GO TO HOSTAL ALEMAN AGAIN IF WE EVER GO TO PANAMA CITY AGAIN.

Patrick was always willing and able to help out and answer all of our questions. The breakfast was excellent.

The best thing about my weekend getaway to Panama City was staying here. Because it's a private home, it's a very friendly atmosphere. The breakfast included is a great way to meet other guests and swap stories. Patrick is awesome and very helpful with your trip. In a safe neighborhood and easy to navigate back to the nearby well-known supermarket Rey. Limited roads make it time-consuming to get to the other side of town, like Amador or Casco Viejo, but I would definitely stay here again. =]

Patric is very dynamic, and he is there for any assistance. The breakfast is great, early in the morning Patric set the table with fresh coffee, toast, cheese, jam, Juice and more. The high speed Internet is great. You feel like in family, everyone is happy, helpful and all with smile and enthusiasm.

A good place to stay on your way to or from the airport. A residential area with nothing to see or do nearby other than a few fast food restaurants and a grocery store. Good value for money and secure area.

Excellent Place if you have to catch an early flight. Great Breakfast, Airport Transfer offered. Secure Surroundings.
