I should've given more consideration to the negative review I read about this hostel. This hostel advertises A/C, but won't allow you to turn it on (even if you offer to pay for it) before June. I stayed in May, and believe me, at 35 C/95 F, it was hot enough for A/C, and they still wouldn't give me the remote because of this stupid policy! I was told to open a window. It was hard to sleep above a bar that smelled of grease, in a room between two W/Cs--which weren't cleaned often enough.

"The best of our hostal is the location" - that's actually true, but you will hear it quite often when ever a new guest moves in, as the walls and doors are rather thin... Anyway, nice stay for two nights with reasonable value for money.

All in all, our stay at Hostal Antares was pretty good. The owner is hilarious and very helpful. He gave us a map when we arrived and showed us all of the important places in Granada. It was nice that our private room came with a sink and mirror. The hostel was EXTREMELY cold at night, and there was no soap in the bathrooms. However, the location was great for the price (right in the center of the city), and we were allowed to come and go as we liked.

We had a great time here! The owner is very enthusiastic and helpful and this got us off to a good start in Granada. The room was very comfortable. It would have been nice to get wifi in the room as it was a bit uncomfortable having to sit in the hall to get my email. However, this is a tiny negative stacked against a lot of positives!

We arrived late, and the doorman was kind and helpful. The rooms were sparse, the facilities were floor-based (toilet and shower down the hall for the entire level), and the room was very cold. The tiny radiator didn't make much of a difference. The location is great with a lot of bars around it, but the bars tended to close relatively early. Overall, it was a slightly above average experience, though the value was certainly above average.

Awesome location and the friendliest staff I've ever met at a hostel. Fair price for the quality of the rooms and the location!

The best part of our stay was Javier, the adorable and hilarious owner of the hostel. He was so kind and accommodating! Hostel is in an excellent location, walking distance to the Alhambra and in a vibrant neighborhood. The building is older, so the water in the shower wasn't quite hot enough, but it had a lot of character and was an excellent value for the money. Would highly recommend!

This hostel is located across from the Cathedral and is pretty easy to get to. It's just a walk to the Alhambra and to Albayzin. There's pretty good food nearby and there's shopping not too far away. The hostel owner the such a friendly & happy man- so welcoming! He gave us a good map and directions and told us to knock on his door if we ever needed help (which we did a few times). The room was old but still decent and although the heaters only worked from 7pm-9am, we managed.
