Our stay at Tatai's was absolutely great! The staff was so friendly and made sure that we got to do everything we wanted to do in the Atacama. The hostel's vibe is great, but it is located just a little bit outside of town. Definitely a safe and manageable walk.

If you like travelling for the purpose of meeting people, this is the place to be. Great atmosphere. There is a central area where everyone meets to go on tours and you have a drink with the staff during the night. One of the coolest hostels I've ever been. But atention! if you came to san pedro to rest and sleep, this might not be the place for you

Staff are friendly when you get to know them, although they can be a little intimidating when they are all sat together! Good beds, nice rooms, very clean hostel. Kitchen is quite small, but well equipped

Tatais is a great hostel. The staff are really helpful and friendly. They put us in a private room at no extra cost and even let me stay on there after my friend had left, which was nice. There's a cute puppy too :) the only slight bad point is that the staff party EVERY night (including drums) - even if no guests are involved, which can be a bit much if you're up early for tours. Also no towel hire available.

Heading to San Pedro? You need to stay at Hostal Atacama Tatai. The guys running the place are amazing, they went out of there way to help me out daily - nothing was too much hassle. The hostel also has a great atmosphere and is full of people from all over the world... not just Australians!

We had the absolute best time at Tatai's, the people really made the experience, we did all our meals and tours with the hostel. Really feels like a community, we were welcomed with open arms, don't let the other reviews fool you, it truly is a wonderful place. The food is unbelievable (awesome Peruvian chef) the tours were very reasonable and we learned a lot, and there's even a puppy!

This place is the best. The vibe is awesome -- the people here want to get to know you and share the space. They'll invite you to cook a meal with them, hang out by the fire, or just help you out with anything you might need. My group of friends and I chose to do the tours through the hostel and it was a great decision. The guide who works there knows a LOT about the area and the tours were a lot of fun. Overall, a super community, clean rooms/great space, and a relaxing atmosphere :)

A laid-back hostel with a good vibe. Avoid if you're in a rush--you must relax to appreciate this place. Owners are passionate Chileans who do their own fun versions of the typical tours.

Not the best place to stay if you wanna take early trips, the common area is nect to the rooms and there is a party every night. Kitchen poor.

This hostel is located outside of the Centre, but the walk is not long. Having recently undergone an update we would have expected more. The bathrooms are not particularly pleasant and the loo roll is not replenished often enough. All the rooms are off a central courtyard which is nice during the day, but with no curfew, the owners and friends had group singing sessions until 1-2am, which in a town where dawn tours set off at 3-4am, can make for a tiring experience.

With in mind San Pedro is in the middle of the desert this hostel offers good value for money. No more, no less. Nice, clean beds, nice courtyard, no lock(er)s and the kitchen is a little too small to be used by the staff at rush hour.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the hostel is fairly new but has a lovely charm to it with all rooms built around a central courtyard. They make it really easy to book excursions through them too! The only downside is that there are no lockers and it can get very noisy at night as there is no curfew- not ideal when some trips start a 4am! Our room wasn't cleaned for our entire stay and being the desert it got very sandy! Overall though a great base in San Pedro and lovely staff!

Booked a double got a twin. No bigge bit the place didn't really impress either. Room was clean enough but very small. No chairs, tables or even a nail in the wall for storage. Only two toilets. Very small and super basic kitchen, only used by the staff. Staff had parties every night, and were baked most of the day. If you're only going to sleep and looking for a cheap place this might do, but not for hanging out.

Bad beds, nails pieces in the sheets, some piece of clothes were stolen when they we drying, so loud at night but its maily the owners that party. The atmosphere is not nice, very loud but no one is really participating. Really disguting kitchen. Old food and dirty dishes everywhere... You don't want to cook in that place. In san pedro there are lots of tours leaving really early in the morning and it's not the place to sleep.... We also got a lot of mosquitos bites because there are a lot.

Awesome hostel with a great atmosphere and the most friendly, funny and helpful staff! We even ended up extending our stay twice because we wanted to spend more time there. Comfy beds, hot showers and just on the edge of town. We booked 2 tours with Tatai´s, the Laguna Cejar and the Valle de la Luna tour, both were really enjoyable and good value. The hostel is quite new and making additions all the time so don´t be put off with the lack of current reviews.

Too loud. Party whole day/night. Shower do not work. Staff tried to fix the problems, but there were too many. And there are a party to go, that seemed to be more important.
