The hostel is very close to two busy squares and buses are easy to catch for anywhere you want to go.

Hello Im travelling since 6 years and i went to every single country on this continent from canada to argentina but this hostal balam and more than anything the manager is the poorest experience ive had in all my trips or stays in hostal. the manager is alcoholic, they rob tourist and its sad to say but he has mental problems that makes him dangerous! Warning you can get kicked out in the middle of the night for no reason while hes drunk anything can happen even if you think hes your friend!

Great hostel, really helpful staff! We booked a room for two which we needed to change to three, the staff brought another bed straight away with clean sheets and towels. The room was bright and comfortable, with a clean shower, which is a lot more than you can ask from the other hostels we have stayed at in Cancun. The court yard was a great place to socialise, with a lovely campfire lit every evening. This is a great place to stay, even though it is new in business and will only get better!

Staff was unorganized, the hostel had absolutely no character at all (very uninviting w/ plain white walls, no travel information, etc) and they advertised a free breakfast when there wasn't one!
