the hostel is at the top of six flights of stairs, nothing the staff can do about that one. The hostel was run well with welcoming chilled staff.

Hostel was clean and tidy, simple facilities (shower, toilet, kitchen, fridge and internet), . Staff are very relaxed and leave you too it, relaxed atmosphere with guests... sharing a room allows you to get to know others. the only issues where that there was no subsidised bar downstairs and the walk up the stairs was an olympic event in itself oh and it its very difficult to find (use google street view before you go - only way). for so cheap....its great value

Great place--my only complaint were that there weren't too many bathrooms.

The place looks damp, it took a while to realise the place is really our hostel. but the rooms are okay. breakfast is included. Perfect location. nice hostel owner. Except for the atmosphere of the building, everything else is good.

Curb appeal is seriously lacking...it looks like the hostel has been boarded up from street level (the hostel is actually located 4 flights up). There was very little space in our 6-bed room (even by hostel standards!) and the beds were pretty uncomfortable. That being said, the location can't be beat and the price was pretty good. They have a nice kitchen and one computer that is free for anyone to use.

You get what you pay for. That being said, not really a bad place. It's right by a metro stop, on Las Ramblas, but on the 4th floor of a kind of sketchy looking building. For what you pay you know to expect that the beds are not the most comfy, but I will say that the bathrooms were decent and the staff were pretty chill. There is free wi-fi and an assortment of pastries for breakfast. For around 10 euros a night, I'd probably come back.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Very weird hostel. The staff was acting in a strange way to my mind, coming in the room without knocking, not explaining why they took off some matresses to change them with others, bringing suitcases and products all over the room, they were smocking half-naked in the common areas, were not friendly at all, being the most noisy at night (yes, the staff members were much more noisy than the travellers there). I didnt feel safe either.

Would highly recommend this hostel. Recently stayed here for 1 week. The hostel was very clean and has amazing facilities. The kitchen is full of everything you could possibly need to cook for yourself. The rooms are pretty spacious. The staff were very lovely and friendly. The location is perfect. It is just seconds off la Rambla and minuets away from the dock and beach. Outstanding value for money. Plan to stay there again soon. Thank you very much!! (We were a group of 3 girls)

Stayed for 3 nights. Everybody in the staff has their own way of living and some things worked well, so I stayed without any kind of prejudice. However, everybody had to leave room 405 on Monday (why?) and I had gone to Tarragona very early, so when I came back, where were my towel and T-shirt? Staff simply lost them/threw them away and didn't care about solving my problem immediately. Besides, they make noise at night and smoke the worst kind of tobacco in the world inside the hostel.

It is a cheap hostel with a great location but the building and the dorms are dirty and untidy. Mattresses are not comfortable and if you move while sleeping it always makes noise and wakes you up. Although it is 2 minutes by walking to La Rambla, street and the building is absolutely not safe. If you are going to an excellent city like Barcelona for a trip choose a different hostel by giving some more money.

The staff were very friendly and the location was superb. It was clean, I felt safe, and I felt I got a great value for my money. It was a little small and crowded, but it was just what I wanted.

It is a quite good hostel. Near the center and museums. If you want only sleep, it is a hostel for you. No fun and any other organizations. Breakfest are not good. Staff is friendly.

The hostel was in a good location and was always clean, but there is little else good to say about it. The staff made me uncomfortable, they were constantly smoking, and were very loud at night. The hostel itself was slightly difficult to find at first but was otherwise convenienlty located. It was up about 5 flights of stairs, but was also very cheap, so you get what you pay for. Would not recommend.

The Hostel Bar Ramblas Colon is great for backpackers or travelers who enjoy spending time with the other guests and staff. The staff is really trying to keep the hostel as clean as it can be and for guests to keep comfortable and homely. Definitely coming back and recommend others.
