The staff were great, bringing us plates and cutlery and even napkins when I asked, even though kitchen access wasn't included. The place was quiet yet also right next to el Prado and within easy walking distance of most of the sights, lots of taperias and shops. The price advertised on hostelworld is great too, the owner was amazed I had got the room so cheap!
There had been a mistake with our booking, so we were taken into town to stay at a different hostel. A bit strange at first, but this new place (Veracruz Hostel) turned out to be excellent. Super central location, ensuite room and very clean. We still had to pay the same price, which was a very good deal. Don't know what happened with our original booking, but we had a great time at Veracruz.
great location to be across the street from Prado and not far from a metro stop, very walkable location, not far from to the center of town, quiet at night since near the museums versus being in the city center, would definitely stay here again.
Great hostel, with hotel like facilities for hostel prices. Located near a metro stop, finding your way back is no problem at all. Highly impressed with the room maintenance, which provides fresh towels, bath gel and shampoo daily. It also has a safe, which was nice, considering I almost got pickpocketed in Madrid. Good number of restaurants and cafes around the hostel too, which is convenient.
