Potential to be a great hostel but is massively let down by the attitude and running skills of the owners/staff. Quiet at 11pm however people getting up at 4am for day trips can make as much noise as they please. It feels like the owners donīt really want to be there and the smile you get on arrival will be the last for your stay. A male drunk friend of the owners was allowed to stumble into our friends dorm to sleep for the night and into the ladies dorm on the next night. NEEDS NEW OWNERSHIP   Read Owner Comments

One of the cheaper options in San Pedro but still close to all the action. They provide loads of tours. The showers were rubbish, no water after about 8 at night and then sporadic during the day. Good atmosphere in the evenings.

The streets in San Pedro are not very well sign posted, so Hostal Cabur is difficult to find if you arrive after dark, and not well known to taxi drivers or locals either. My main issues with this hostel were: 1) no towels were provided 2) breakfast is not included 3) The bathrooms and toilets were not cleaned once during our 4 night stay 4) The showers didnt work properly and after 10pm it seems that you need to light the water heater yourself.

Generally this hostel is recommendable due to location and price. Overall we enjoyed our stay (we had a double room): lot of interesting people, nice flair due to "campfire", mellow music, hammocks, friendly staff and the bikes they rent out. For those of you who are very scrupulous with clean bathrooms I cant recommend it as there are only 2 toilets, which are not the cleanest. Often there is no water as the village cuts water supply. Sometime people line up for the washrooms.

thats a very confortable hostel. people there are not exacly worry about business, and everything there was doing very unformaly. besides the location, that in the night, usually cold at nights, you might have to walk some 7 minutes. If you are relaxed and witrh company, thats ok. The fireplace is cool.

Nice clean hostel, friendly staff, good vibe. About 10 mins from the main square but if you want to stay closer expect to pay more. Also like anywhere in South America watch if you need to pay in non local currency.

Cabur did not honor my hostelworld reservation, so I can only comment on location and staff. They did meet me at the bus stop and find another hostel BUT it was even further outside of town and no other guests were there. Although SP is a very small city, Cabur is located outside of the center. SP has tons of hostel options located in city center but many are not listed on HW.

I guess this is one of the best price/value hostels in San Pedro. The staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere with hammocks and fireplace is quite good and - most important for me - the rooms (I was in a double) and bathrooms are very clean. There surely are other hostels more central, but a 5min walk from the main streets of San Pedro is not really a drawback.
