I loved my time here. I originally planned to stay only a couple days but that turned into a week. My stay was during low season so most of the time it was myself and a couple others, which i really liked because it gave me the opportunity to get to know the staff in a relaxed environment. Some may not like the location because it isn't directly in the heart of the most popular spots but it gives you the chance to explore new areas of valpo. Mostly the staff was awesome. Highly recommend!

Were not provided with towels at all. Breakfast was not till 9am which is later than normal when you have limited time to visit. Otherwise, a pleasant place to stay

The location is not perfect, especially because at night you shouldn't take the stairs that lead directly to it. Staff was really nice, we arrived early in the morning and were allowed to take an extra breakfast for free. Our room was spacious so all beds were single-beds and not bunk-beds, liked the lockers!

Really nice beds, and footlockers are a great idea. Really not much going on here though, seems the staff just hang out in a little group and not many travellers here, no one speaks!

Youth hostel type of establishment. Great for young backpakers.

We booked a double room by Hostelworld and when we arrived they told us that there was an overbooking. They immediately solved it by giving us a super nice apartment 2 blocks away, with a spectacular terrace and all the facilities we can get at the hostel but internet. We stayed for three days and they never cleaned, not even to pick the garbage from the bathroom.

Avoid the room by the front door if you're interested in sleeping...people coming and going all hours of the night...

A very good hostel. Nice bedrooms and common areas. Clean bathrooms, but the water in the showers takes a long time to become hot. A fair breakfast for the price. Just a small tip: the ascensor Espirto Santo is not working, so if you stays in this hostel, you need to go up the hill walking. It's a wonderful walk, but the hostel should tell us it before we arrive there.

ve friendly hostel, good english spoken by all staff which was a great help to us as we speak very little spanish. Good room with comfortable bed - all very good value for what we paid. Lovely little garden and kitchen with big fridge. Very close to Nerudas house which you must go to! We would recommend this to others.

Lovely place and lovely people.

The hostel is very clean, with a big shared room (were I stayed) and confortable beds and pillows, lots of blankets. Hot water available, but takes a while to heat. Breakfest is simple, starts a little late for me (at 9 AM), but since lots of people wake up late (as the city itself) it may not be a problem. Privete rooms seemed confortable as well. Nice place outside to hang out and talk, but filled with smokers, which kept me away.

We love Hostal Caracol. It is very well organized and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is minimal - cornflakes and bread which you can toast. The coffee is instant. There are teas in bags. Sometimes there is juice or fruit, but not every day.

Very nice hostal with friendly atmosphere and excellent staff! With good common areas, a little patio, one dorm of 7 beds and a few private rooms, the hostal is not overcrowded and all the residents can know each other. Definitely the good place to stay in Valparaiso!!

I like the hostel, only one computer for guests was permanently used sometimes by the people working at the hostel. Maybe you need another computer. Otherwise I liked it a lot!
