We loved the staff and the space and the location and the private bathroom - everything was clean and easy to use. We would definitely recommend Hostal Caracol to friends visiting Valparaiso.

The staff at Hostal Caracol was great, especially Deborah and the location is perfect, great restaurant across the street and very friendly and helpful people in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Friendly staff, great neighbourhood, good breakfast -- what more could you ask for?! The locked chest by the foot of the bed was great.

Like the open courtyard. Breakfast area was very niceWe laughed at the toaster. It was our first experience In a hoste other than our first two nights in Santiago. If they were all like yours, we would do it again

Hostal Caracol was a very homey hostel. Extremely clean, my belongings felt safe as there were trunks at the end of each bed. The breakfasts were great. There is a towel hire fee, but it was soft and fluffy. I definitely recommend this hostel for itś great location up bella vista hill close enough to neruda's house. Dangerous to walk back at night but a shared taxi costs next to nothing. Overall the hostel was a home away from home.

I personally enjoyed staying at the Hostal Caracol. It was reasonably close to the downtown area as well as to a restraunt we later found. The staff were friendly and good with e-mails before we went.

Hostel Caracol is a charming place to stay in Valpo.I was inn this 7 bedroom and they have lockers and space enough, so a big group of people wasnt a problem afterall. The staff is ok, they help you with everything, including adives, tips and all...the breakfest could be better, but I guess is a standard in Chile. Would stay there again, if I could.

A constant cast of characters walking through the door. Friendly staff made it easy to meet people and make plans for travel and exchanging stories. Highly recommend it, but it fills up quickly.

The beds were really comfortable and there`s cool pirate chests to lock your stuff in. The pillows are better than the ones I have at home. The kitchen is free to use and has all the stuff you would need. The staff are really helpful for suggestions of places to go. There`s a TV area and you can even buy popcorn if you want to watch a film. Great hostel!!

This hostel was exactly what I needed. It wasn't a bunch of kids on gap year trying to get drunk. It was clean, well priced, and in a nice neighborhood. It was quiet with a good breakfast. I didn't feel like I would get a disease by sleeping in the sheets-- because they were actually clean.

Comfortable accommodations. The narrow stairwell from main road can be sketchy (bunch of drunk teenagers hanging out on them during the day). But, if you go up to a different stairwell, it's a bit further walk, but safer.

It was VERY cold! Be sure to bring very warm clothing! No central heat in September, brr! Great time otherwise.

Not bad overall, water in the shower was cold when I tried, albeit that was mid-afternoon. Nice building and felt very secure.

This place is GREAT! Had a wonderful time and the staff was so helpful and told you EVERYTHING you need. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a clean, wonderful place to stay. Not a party hostel, but just what you need. Quiet and removed.

Quiet, relaxing hostel full of character, however a little too quiet for my liking. Very secure and breakfast appreciated. A little far from the bus station.
