I was located on the first floor my first night. It was quite noisy there. The next evening I moved upstairs and that greatly improved my stay

The staff was very friendly, and our room and bathroom were clean + comfortable. Great value for the money. Breakfast is pretty good, it is on top of a huge hill (read: mountain) on a street that does not have car access, but taxis can still get quite close. I wish that the hostel had had more information on touristy attractions and daytime trips -- although the staff was knowledgeable about bus numbers, etc., they lacked in readily available activities and trips. But free pisco night was great!

The staff is amazing! The beds are comfortable and the living room is cozy. Although they don't have a public computer they do have great wifi. I also only got a hot shower 50% of the time, but I would go back in a heart beat. The breakfast is fit for a king and includes coffee or tea (which is available for free all day) bread with honey or jam, juice, fruit, and eggs. It is difficult to find at first and I would recommend a taxi if it is your first visit but its in a great location.

Great hostel! The hostel is very small and feels very friendly. Excellently located in the cultural area of Valpo. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the free drinks they make at night are fantastic. The breakfast is one of the best I've had and is freshly made each morning by the staff. The eggs are amazing. The beds are big and comfortable although the bunks looks and feels like two ordinary beds stacked ontop eachother.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Jorge was a legend although it wasn´t always easy to get hold of. Free Pisco sours were good as was the breakfast.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. However, the atmosphere was pretty boring and the facilities, especially the bathrooms, were in a very rundown shape. The worst part, however, was the noise from the hostel and the surrounding area. The walls seemed to be made out of paper and you really could hear every little detail. At one point we were able to make out about 10 different noise sources (baby crying, party outside, animals making noise, door slamming, loud talking, etc.).

The hostel was great, especially the stuff. They offered every day free drinks (with and without alcohol) and have been friendly and helpful since our arrival. Everything was clean and very good location, no complaints about that. We've been travelling for more than one month in South America, and this was definitely the best hostel so far: DON'T MISS IT!

Nice location and very nice staff. They will gladly show you the places to see in the city and even cook the eggs for breakfast for you. The place can be quite noisy, but you don't come to Valpo to sleep, right? ;)

It's a great location and the staff is great! Jorge, the owner, is the greatest. And he will give you lots of good advice about where to go and what to do.

Great experience. Staff very helpful and friendly, full of information about the local sights and places. Includes breakfast, that while portioned, is quite good: a large fresh bun (4 portions when sliced), butter, jam, orange juice, a serving of scrambled eggs, fruit, tea, coffee (at times drip)& milk. Tea&Instant coffee available throughout the day, Large and nice kitchen, though I only stayed two nights so didn't use it. The bathrooms could use a fix up, but clean. Wifi, lockers Recmommended

Great location but really dirty showers/bathrooms and only 2 that worked. During the day there were no water and the staff was never to be found.

My stay at the Casa Valparaiso was excellent. The staff is very very friendly and helpful, you wilkl notice that they really makes you feel like home. Thing is this hostel feels more like a home, that you're staying at someones house, this is both the character of the house and sensation you get, the creates a friendly ambience the everybody seems to enjoy to the fullest. Next time in Valparaiso I'm going back to stay here. saludos Olle
