I liked almost everything about this, but I thought it was strange that I had to pay 50 pesos to use the internet.

Good place if you're looking for a cheap private room. Not a great value if you're alone. There are four rooms, and some common space. Not a party hostel. I was annoyed on my first morning because the receptionist slept on the couch in the common room, and his cell phone alarm, which went on forever, rang at 7am and failed to wake him up. Several guests were awakened and came out to see what was up, while the receptionist very slowly woke up. Good location, though. Near Zona Rosa and a metro.

The location of this hostel is good, just 1 minutes from the subway. And it is pretty safe. The staff there is good and helpful. However, the internet is very slow, especially at night. And they only have one bathroom for women, and one for men in total, that's really inconvenient. Anyway, it is a safe hostel.

Nice flat turned into a hostel, good for meeting fellow travelers. However, there are things to be improved. First is the shower in the male bathroom, that doesn't spray enough water. Second is breakfast, way too poor, even for a hostel. Last but NOT least, security: a roomate STOLE my cell phone and other roomies' laptop, bag and passport, and there wasn't any record of who was the thieve , since the staff simply doesn't take copies of IDs or documents upon check-in.

Owner Comment (Show)
In Hostel Casa Vieja we are aware that some things are to be improved and we are working on it. Unfortunately, everywhere there are people who steals others and we had the bad chance of going through that awful experience. We know you were badly affected, and what we did was to call the police, of course we did not have the papers, but he told us he had been stolen and we put our confidence on him. As you can see it is the first time something like this happens in this hostel. However, as we now know, people can lie and what we are doing from now on is to have copies of the people coming here to increase security. We are so sorry for what happened to you but we are going to be stronger with our rules. Thank you to write.

Really helpful and friendly staff. The place is very neat and tidy and very centrally located. The subway station is right in the front. There are food stalls and bars all around. Excellent! Only drawback is its not a spot to party at. It is kinda laidback quiet hostel
