My bf and stayed for a few nights and we felt very welcome. The staff were awesome, everything was clean and tidy with hot water and a beautiful garden and reading area.

All in all, a really pleasant hostel - helpful/friendly staff, big and clean rooms, good breakfast. Only issue would be a lack of indoor shared space given that the Wi-Fi didn't work in the dorm room, but was sunny when I was here so no issue. Friendly but not an overly social place, but had a good stay.

Casa del Sol is a true gem! Very comfortable beds in a room with a great deal of space. The staff is very helpful, polite and always ready to serve. A quiet place to spend a relaxing time in Oaxaca. Amagi

This is one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in. It is social, but not a party place. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and the staff fantastic!

Great place and friendly staff. We made reservations for the wrong date, showed up late at night, but we were able to get a room. The staff was also very helpful in helping us travel around. Breakfast was tasty too!

Amazing hostel. The dorm has bunks and beds and curtains between the beds for privacy which was a nice touch. The breakfast was large and had all kinds including fruit which is always a lovely thing. The hostel is in an excellent location, close enough to the bus station to walk and walking distance of everywhere in the city. They make your bed for you every day as well as cleaning everything to within a inch of it's life. The courtyard is beautiful and a lovely place to chill and meet others.

Gorgeous lil hostel, very clean and staff were so attentive! Was like staying in a boutique hostel. Having fresh fruit n strong coffee in the sunny, flower filled courtyard was so lovely! Padlocks for lockers provided n you get keys for all main doors so u can come n go as u please. Note that there's WiFi but no computers which can be a prob if ure travelling without a laptop n need to research/book stuff. Internet cafe just down the road tho. Recommended hostel, thanks for the relaxed stay :)

We loved our 4 night stay at Hostal Casa del Sol in Oaxaca. Guillermo was the consumate host. His hostal is rustic and charming and located in a beautiful old Colonial Mexican House in the Center of Oaxaca. The location could not be better. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel then this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for lodging in a place in which you could feel "at home" then this is the place. Thanks Guillermo. We will be back next year to stay at Casa del Sol.
