Quite confusing to find but more down to weird street structures. Owner very knowledgeable and very helpful as well as other staff friendly. Not loads of hostels here but would definitely recommend staying here, good backpacker vibe, facilities, safe location and overall city seems very pleasant
This is a great hostel- good rooms and lots of people around. Location is very safe, in a nicer part of town with easy bus rides to other areas. Very helpful and friendly staff.
by far one of the best hostels i've stayed in. spot on modern and clean kitchen, cozy and perfectly furnished living room, huge rooms with huge bathrooms - finaly some space to put your things. after traveling for some time this place felt like home. area is safe, direct bus to the centre. nice terrace, welcoming staff. i stayed longer and would definitely come back
The hostel isn't really close to much, except for Plaza Futura which had really great (a bit pricier) food. On saying this, it's also not too far away from Paseo Colon. The wifi is really great here.
I really enjoyed my stay at Cumbres del vulcan. The staff was really nice and helpful, the price as low, and there was always an interesting mix of travellers to hang out with. I've heard (more than enough) that El Salvador can be a era dangerous country, but this hostal is in a very same area of town and I never felt uncomfortable in the 2 weeks I stayed.

Nice place, good kitchen and lounge area. In a nice neighborhood, though somewhat removed so you have to be prepared to bus to get anywhere. Security could be better - there was never anyone manning the front door (which was odd, because even toy stores have armed guards in El Salvador) and the only way to lock up your valuables was in a cabinet that the staff kept the key for.
Wow! what a great place to stay.... very clean and quiet. no squeeky floors or doors and located in a pretty quiet area away from bustling traffic. The owner was very nice and had vast knowledge of the city and things to do around the city. the staff are also very friendly and if you speak english your in luck .... The beds were really comfy too and bathrooms clean and kitchen clean as clean can get. Nice patio and living area to hang out.
Very beautiful and cosy hostel in the centre of San Salvador. It's fully equiped with musical instruments, movies, great kitchen. I loved it and just looked like the kind of place decorated by a mum.
Sara and Malcolm (the owner) are wonderful...If you wand a peaceful place to chill out then Cumbres Del Volcanis the place...
Good hostel but a little bit difficult to find and a bit far from anything to do. It is very easy, however to take a bus anywhere and it is a very safe neighbourhood!

We reached to this hostel at 2 am from International airport. They quickly let us in and sleep without asking for the due amount. If they improve cleanliness that would be great. In one sentence what you pay is what you get.
