Really excellent hostel - very friendly and helpful staff. If I'm ever back in San Gil I will certainly stay here again.

The hostel is relaxed and clean. with a good kitchen area, the staff were friendly and helpful regarding giving tips and advice on visiting local areas and travelling further away. You have to walk 10 -15 mins before reaching the town's main plaza and centre however we felt very safe. A nice place to stay while in San Gil

I had an amazing time at Hostel El Papillon. The owners are so nice, the rooms and the kitchen are huge, there are many places to chill out in a hammock and it is also very clean and well organized. I definitely recommend it.

With Le Papillon you really get value for your money. We stayed in a double room that was small but clean and there is everything you need. The beds are firm. The rooms are located around the common area. It is easy to hear the doors of the rooms and bathrooms that are made of a noisy material (although the Swiss owner told us he shortly wants to do something about it) and the owners start working in at about 7. But is is definitely no party place and the they are very helpful with questions.

This is a really nice family run hostel. The couple who owns the hostel is very helpful and have a folder with information and directions to all the mayor activities in the area of San Gil. The hostel is clean, there is a kitchen that you can use, as well as a backyard with hammocks out of the sun. Best of all is that the prices are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend it!

We loved staying here at the papillon, the owner was always there to help us with booking tours or give s us some good piece of advice about the town! The place had a cozy atmosphere and the owner even served us her homemade bread for breakast one morning.. it was very delicious and kind of her;)

We had a very pleasant stay at this hostal for 4 nights in a double room. The double rooms all are on the ground floor opening on the inner patio, where also the living area is, but it was very quiet in general. Rooms, bathrooms and kitchen very clean. Well equipped kitchen, very good coffee. Nice garden and back garden terrace with hammocks. Common area very pleasant. No noise from street. Excellent value for money.

Great staff. Great homemade bread in the morning. Really chill environment. Enjoyed my stay at El Papillon.
