Good comfortable place in a great location in town. Showers are a little cold though.

Its a nice place to stay for a few days in Pucon. The owners are really nice (just spanish) and the rooms are very clean. Also the kitchen is really good equiped! But the nights are cold and the showers also. The walls of the rooms (wood) are really thin... You can hear everything from your neighbours. For a stay in Pucon with warm clothes (for the nights) its a nice hostel.

Hostal Emalafquen is one of the best places i ve stayed at. Emma, the owner, is a very nice lady and extremely clean and helpful. I stayed at a 3 private bed with bathroom and every day we got back and everything was tidy and spotless, they even gave us towels for free. The kitchen is very comfortable and it has a few tables where you get to meet other people. Awsome place to relax and enjoy Pucon. Hostal EMalafquen es uno de los mejores lugares en los que estuve en Chile.

We enjoyed our stay last year so returning to Pucon we saw no reason to 'check out' some other Hostel when we were quite satisfied with this hostel last year. A feature in many of the Chilean Hostels has been a waste of water in that the HOT water changes to COLD very quickly and you have to leave it running to get the Hot water again. Our Hostel here in Puerto Varnas has got it perfect. ----- they must have installed an Indian Geyser. Ema needs to fix this to get our top rating. * * * * *

By far the best value of all the hostels I stayed in in two weeks in Pucon. I'm hoping to book it again.

Fine place. Kind staff. Good location. Parking was available which was nice for people with vehicles. Towels were not provided as stated on hostelworld and Wi-fi access was patchy. We enjoyed our stay.

This was probably our favourite hostel in the whole of Chile. On the property is the owners house, a small cabin and a second house which we were staying in. This house had 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and a lounge room. Only guests were staying in this house so it had a great atmosphere and the facilities were good. The property also had a very nice garden and you could sit outside and eat your meals. The owner Emma was areally lovely, I would highly reccomend this hostel!

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel at home by the lady of the house. Nothing was too much trouble including having a shower with fresh towels on evening of departure. If you want to stay somewhere homely, with a lovely garden close to bus station and town centre choose hostal emalafquen. It may be straight out of the seventies but its character, charm and 6 ring gas hob are definitely worth the visit. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a hostal with a twist.

The hostel crew is very friendly they helped us with everything. We really real this stay was very special, mainly because of the woman who runs the place.

Staff is uber friendly. Sweet ladies who are very generous and caring make you feel right at home. They offer great, accurate advice on things to do in and around pucon. This establishment is more b&b style than hostel, but it is cozy and welcoming, exactly what you want after a long day climbing the volcano.

It was a great place to stay in Pucon. The hostal has a good location, the owners are very nice people, always trying to help and asking all the time if we were ok. The only thing less good was that the bathroom was cold and the shower water not so warmer. Besides this, just positive things to say!
