Very noisy hostel, but in a good location and with a nice atmosphere.

Gorgeous hostel in a great location in the Candelaria. Also one of the best values for our money. Wifi, sheets/blankets, towels (upon request) and breakfast (you have to ask for the eggs!) are all free. The common areas (TV room, garden, dining area are all quite beautiful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Not all staff spoke English, but there was always one person working that did. Bathrooms were often quite wet, and there was often a wait for a shower, since there were only 3 avail.

Certainly does not match the photos here on Hostelworld.... The system said that there were no triples available, yet after booking a single and double, our double bedroom was the triple we wanted!!!! Simple, but clean. The day receptionist was wonderful, the night receptionist was average at best. My mum's room was dark, cold & felt a bit damp. She was also disturbed by noise from guests & staff in the night and early morning... None of the beds were all that comfortable...

Excellent location. Facilities were fine and the staff was ultra-friendly. Also, please note that I never made it to Popayan and so, never stayed at Hostal Caldas.

This place is great. It is cheap, very clean, good wifi, a sun room to hang out or watch movies in, a small garden one can smoke in, a large breakfast/dining room, a bar, a very helpful staff, and it is walking distance to most tourist attractions/downtown area. It is quite large which means it is great to meet other people. The rooms by the dinning room might be better for people who don't mind noise or partying. I stayed in the rooms behind the sun room, and it was very calm.

The location is very good. The staff were very helpful and enjoyed my stay there. They just need to fix/improve their toilet and bathroom facilities.
