Despite having booked through hostel world and paid a deposit when we arrived we were told there was a stuff up and there were no rooms left in this hostel or in town. They kindly allowed our group of 4 a hammock (each on separate balconies). Slightly disappointing we still had to pay full price. It was nice enough but we ended up moving hostels for a better atmosphere and price.
We booked this hostel over hostelworld and when we got there, they told us there had been a problem with the website and therefore they didn't have space. We enden up having to go to another place and I still haven't gotten my deposit back. Would not recommend booking this place

Unfortunately I wasn't actually able to stay the night here due to some confusion with my reservation (it was new year's eve afterall) but the owner, Viviana, and the volunteer staff were very nice about it and, though we ended up staying elsewhere, invited us to join their New Year's eve dinner. Hostel itself seemed very nice, kinda far from the water but peacefully nestled into the woods so you could easily enjoy a nice night in the courtyard. Definitely recommend this hostel.
Nobody cleaned the shared dorm bathroom while we stayed in it. Aircon didn't work in two of the rooms we stayed in, so probably don't work anywhere in the hostel. There is only one person who knows what's going on with the rooms even though there are so many staff. All they seem to do is cook food for themselves in the communal kitchen and sit around smoking. There is no breakfast or restaurant to order food. No laundry service. They didn't know about our booking, luckily there was space.
This hostel was pretty awesome. It's a short walk up the hill from the little beach of Taganga. Great atmosphere. Patios with hammocks, books, kitties, places to hang out, delicious breakfast, great air conditioning, great travel advice, friendly staff. Minor issues: first it was hard to tell who worked there and who didn't because there were some volunteer workers that just looked like guests, haha. Also they didn't have towels available for rent and we had to ask for sheets. Nothing major!
