Hostal Guatefriends Reviews

A nice little hostel in a great location as the airport is just a 10 minute walk away. The owner Ruth is an incredibly nice and helpful person and she makes you feel very welcome. The hostel is small with simple but clean rooms (the most comfortable beds in Guatemala!), and the free water and breakfasts are a nice bonus. The only downside is the cost - once the 22% tax is added to the bill you end paying around 130Q for a dorm room. However, I think the advantages outweigh this. Recommended!

The administrator Ruth (ownwer) was very nice, but at last she did'nt want to accept the payment with credit card telliing the machine didn't work when I told her the way for paying a day before. The worst was she wanted I payed more than the faire said telling there are two more national taxes. I showed theconfirmation and the faire I had to pay. Finally she accepted but it was a bad experience for me. This is the first time something like this happend me around the world. I'm dissapointed...

Excellent staff!! Great attention and always helpful, delightful breakfasts (I love your pancakes!), every info I needed was at hand. Rooms have plenty of space to store luggage. Next time I'm in Guatemala, I'll stay there with no hesitation. The only downside was that POS wasn't working so I couldn't pay with credit card.

Rutt was extremely nice and helpful, she helped me arrange rides and I was completely satisfied with the hostel in every way.
