Great location, cute cafes surrounding it. Nice and clean and friendly staff.
The staff was wonderful and very welcoming (Luis!) There was always good music playing and I felt very safe here.
Note that theres TWO locations for Jacaranda--I rocked up to the smaller one and rang the bell and no one answered.. then I walked up the hill and saw the bigger Jacaranda hostel. Staff were okay and cant speak much English. The bunk beds are really low so if you stay at the lower bunk you wont even be able to sit up on your bed. No towels provided and no breakfast either. Hostel is well-painted outside but not really inside. WIfi is strong though! The hostel is on a hill so prepare to hike up!
Good hostel, lovely old building on Cerro Allegre in Valparaiso, the proce for a single room with shared bathroom was fine. The bathroom was a bit busy at times and there was noise in the night from the corridor right outside my room, which doubles up as a further common area with a sofa. That might annoy you if you are a llight sleeper.
Very cheap for such a perfect location, it is in the prettiest area surrounded by restaurants and cafes. It is lovely and looks new, they are currently improving the place further with some renovations to make a better common area and the outdoor area has just been decorated as well. The kitchen is clean and can be used at any time. You need a key to enter the hostel and there are big lockers with keys provided so it is very secure.
good kitchen. but on the corridor has some wooden rut smell.
