I want to say that Christian and Geraldo are two of the most fantastic hosts one can have while travelling. They put me up at their Home and invited me to their bbq. They also provided a fantastic walking route for me to begin exploring Valparaiso. Their Home is charming and full of character (check out their scarecrow in their garden!). Thanks guys.

Very clean hostel, rooms are nice, in the tourist area of Cerro Alegre. The common area was a bit small, and there was not much going on when I was there. All in all, a nice hostel.

We had such a nice time staying with the guys of Jacaranda hostel. We stayed in the home part of the hostel and they made us feel so welcome, gave us useful tips of the city and recommendations of food places. The location is ideal on the Happy Hill the prettiest hill in Valparasio. We extended our stay because it was so nice.

If you're looking for a clean, quiet place with good beds to stay: this is your place. If you're looking for a place with a more social atmosphere, you should look elsewhere. Hostel was really clean, kitchen had nearly everything (with the exception of a lighter). Staff was friendly, but it was not always clear if and where they were present. All major attractions are within a walking distance.

I stayed in a dorm, which are in another building than the double rooms. It was new and clean, but I wouldn´t call it a hostel. The owner was nice and helpful, but after 12 it felt like I was on a high school trip. You cannot use the kitchen after 12 and are not allowed to talk to each other, not even whispering. When I was exchanging contact information with another guest the owner stood next to us to make sure I´d go to bed. If you want a peaceful quiet stay it´s your place to go.

The hostel has a great location, Gerardo and Charlotte are very friendly, bedrooms for 4 persons are too big! warm water all day! very clean, large kitchen with free food (rice, pasta, tomato sauce, oil, balsamic vinegar, tea, coffe sugar, butter, jam) has a small garden in which there are types of green tea, it is a very low budget hostel for everything that gives,The guys do a great introduction to the city and also give you a map with all excellent tips to enjoy this ,100% recommend Jacaranda
