My boyfriend and I loved La Casa de Felipe. The private rooms are a good size, have awesome fans, good water pressure, and are clean. The common areas are amazing. There are tons of hammocks and a beautiful viewpoint where you can see the ocean and watch the sunset. The restaurant is a little overpriced, but definitely yummy. Our only complaint is that the wifi is pretty weak...it took us forever to book our next hostel simply because we couldn't get anything to load.
Awesome hostel with amazing staff and food and everythinggggggg! But, our shower barely had water pressure. And I mean barely. It was worse than a drinking fountain. Other than that, this place is the best hostel in taganga and all must eat at the in house restaurant!!!!
Its a little bit away from the town, but there's a supermarket close and places to stay. The hostel is really clean, you get a key for your room. It has a nice outdoor space! really good filet mignon, nice kitchen! i really recomend it!
Not many hostels offer restaurant quality food at hostel prices; this is one where you can get superb Filet !ignon for less than US$12. Great outside space, and very spacious dorms.
By far one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at in all of South America! The rooms are great, the staff is so helpful, the atmosphere is incredible and the people who stay here are amazing. I recommend not just the hostel but the restaurant here as well. A really great French chef who is wonderful at doing what he loves, cooking! The only thing that wish was better was the poor water pressure in the showers.
Cannot say enough about Casa de Felipe! The ladies that work there were super helpful and very nice. Alex helped us get to Casa Elemento in Minca and lined up moto taxi's last minute. We missed out on the party bus but the layout of the hostel is huge and the chef was awesome! Thanks for everything! Super fun atmosphere and very good spot to meet young travelers.
They have a very nice green garden to have breakfast, lunch or just chilling. On top of the hostel there is a terrace with view on the sea.
Dinner was fantastic. The Fillet Mignot is one of the best pieces of meat I've ever had! Highly recommend it! Hostel is pretty cool as well... ;)
This was my favorite hostel throughout my travels. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. My private room was spacious, clean and airy. I enjoyed my stay at this hostel so much I stayed an extra day. While Taganga was not my favorite, its convenient to many area places and this is the place to stay!
Great restaurant and v pretty surroundings. Some of the staff were helpful although one bar man was v moody and refused to speak English. Could do with aircon and better curtains/blinds - ended up having to get out of bed by 8am every morning
Excellent hostel! No matter whether you're a backpacker or worker looking for a weekend away, La Casa de Felipe is the place! Huge hostel, very clean, fresh and comfy with hammocks hanging everywhere and an amazing terace to chill out for ever!
amazing place. real quite, and cool ambiente. the bathrooms were perfectly clean, great showers. I especially liked how friendly the staff was. and the food is just amazing. best meal (filet mignon) so far in colombia and at a good price too. daniel, who cooked for us at the restaurant which is ran by a french guy (dominique), really knows his stuff and is superfriendly- oh, and absolutely try the jugos naturales (juices)! sidenote: if you come home at night: take the cab (5000) for security!
Enjoyed our time here. The rooftop garden made it. Its a bit of a trek in to town but a great place to chill for a few days if thats where your heads at. 6 bed dorm was really nice and cool, good aircon. Spent 6 days here in total. Decent food and cool staff. And lots of nice locals trying to make friends with you as well, pretty touching. To be fair they're mainly trying to sell you charlie, but still...
Friendly and helpful staff. The hostel is spread out in a way that you never felt like you were on top of other people which was lovely. The walk up the hill was a bit annoying but its good exercise. :-)
La Casa de Felipe is just as chill as it looks in the pictures. There's a variety of great outdoor spaces to hang out, including a roof deck with a view of the water (beautiful at sunset). It's a bit further from the coast but nothing is that far in Taganga. Fans in the room help with the heat but the shower could be better, and lockers by the beds are small. All food and drink is for purchase, but if you're willing to spend 22,000 COP (about $11) get the filet minion! I would stay here again.
Go to the rooftop and spend some time in those hammocks! It's the only place with a breeze and with the heat of Taganga, you will surely appreciate that breeze. Also, the hostel has the cutest, friendliest cat in the world.
A nice spot if you want to retreat from all the action on the beach. Helpful staff and a tourist office open within the hostel to help organise Lost City trek and transport to Tayrona. The walk up the hill in the heat is a pain, tho!
Lots of hammocks to relax in, the food is great too. The dorms are spacious and all the beds are low which was great.

This hostel had amazing views and I truthfully enjoyed my time there. They have hammocks outside to just relax and enjoy the views. You must try dinner at the hostel restaurant at least once because it is delicious. You can also book tours and bus/boat rides to various places directly from the hostel. The biggest negative of the hostel is that the lockers to secure your stuff are teeny-tiny. They aren't even big enough for a laptop.
