We had the hell of a time at Lanita hostel. First off, its location is very convenient (Dalcahue is just 20 minutes away from Castro, the island's capital, and it is a beautiful little harbour). The staff is great. Hats off for Victoria, who was always around trying to help. The atmosphere couldn't have been better, and breakfast was great. Definetely, Lanita is THE place to stay ne

Ana is the perfect host and such a character. I recommend staying here if you want a comfy bed, a good breakfast including Ana's homemade jams and the option for dinner. We felt so at home and Ana got us speaking Spanish which was great practice. I recommend staying here over Castro, the little town has the perfect Chiloe atmosphere and the bus to Castro is cheap and easy to do in a day trip without having to stay in the hustle and bustle. Gracias Ana :)

Nice comfy beds, big kitchen available for guests to use. The lady who runs the hostel was very helpful telling us about local events. The staff spoke very little English but having been in Chile for a while our Spanish Was good enough for communication. Very nice breakfast and was still served even if we got up late. Easy buses to Castro. Very enjoyable stay.
