We had enjoyed our stay at Hostal Luna Calypso. The place is super clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's also very close to the metro station, which made it easy for us to take the transit to different places in Santiago. Thank you Karin for the great hospitality.

we booked 8 people in high season (3/28~4/1). she asked us more fee, because it is high season. she let us eat blackfast on chage. but blackfast is included in hostelworld homepage. it is unfair. her sister said she didn't really know why she did like that. the owner said she didn't accept family until then.

How strange this sound to me it seems that you had fun, eat breakfast and make huge dinners for your family. Maybe you didn't understand what a hostel is all about and you have a different perspective about it, we did our best to make you feel at home.

Amazing, homey hostel, chill and quiet, smaller, the perfect place to relax in Santiago! The decor is calming and everything (beds, art, shower curtains, etc) feel new and always super clean! Breakfast is huge (cereal, oatmeal, milk, coffee, tea, yogurt, white & wheat breads, butter & jam, fruit), the best we´ve had in South America! Karen, the owner, is very helpful and fun to hang out and chat with. We´ve stayed here twice in the past two weeks and keep coming back just to relax! Frozen Grape!

This was by far the best hostel i have ever stayed in. Excellent location in a safe area, close to 2 metro lines bellavista and the center. Good breakfast including bread, cereal jam fruit yoghurts tea coffee and milk. Its also the cleanest hostel i've come across Dorms and rooms smell of fresh linen. The whole place is just so homely. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and Karen the owner is extremely helpful and speaks both english and spanish. Perfect for relaxing and just chilling out. 10/10

We stayed in this hostel in mid January 2012. The hostel is clean, spacious with large comfortable beds and situated in a good location between downtown and barrio bellavista. The only drawback i had was that there should be staff on at all times as there was nobody to check us in when we arrived despite specifying the time and the owner needed to be called in. On another instance people were buzzing to get in at 5am in the morning for about 20 mins with no staff to attend to them.

Karen (the owner of the hostel) is an amazing hostess. She makes sure your stay is wonderful. I was a young lady staying at the hostel by myself and felt safe and at home the entire time. She even showed me the cheapest way to get to the airport! :)

We spent a quick two nights here and it provided just what we needed and nothing more - fairly clean and great location near the subway, grocery store, ATM, and good restaurants. The dorms were very crowded with three-person bunks, small "lockers," and no real space for luggage. It was weird that the room was also a hallway, as people needed to pass through to get to the other room. Basic breakfast of bread and yogurt. Staff was nice, but disorganized.

The hostel was a tranquil oasis, with a nice patio area and comfortable common areas. My room was clean and bright. The breakfast was nice and you could help yourself if you wanted it before 8.30am The owner of the hostel speaks excellent English and German and was extremely helpful and great fun to chat with. I enjoyed staying here.

Did not get the double bed room we reserved because it had "just been painted" and were given a room with 2 single beds for the same price. She seemed harried and confused about how much to charge so when I calmly tried to ascertain the price before settling in she blurted out rather loudly "Tranquilo!". Observed owner being rude to other guests. Kitchen the smallest I have seen in two months of travel will hold one or two people max. Positives:quiet, good wifi, close to subwaydecent breakfast.

Strange, because this is what you booked a room with of 3 beds a ( bunk bed ) not a double bed, I realy do not know what was wrong with the room we handled to you. 12th Dec '11 2011-12-11 Cavulcura 3 Bed Private

I think this is one of my favorite places in my 2-month long trip in South America. The owner is really nice and chatty and she has three very cute doxen dogs! I stayed in a single room (shared bathroom), which is basic but still comfortable. The public area is not big, but it facilitates interaction with other guests. And yes, they have fast speed Wi-Fi internet, which is the fastest I've ever access in all hostels I stayed in SA!

They still have to improve many things. The breakfast was a problem because although it was said to be at 8am, the lady never arrives before 8:30am. Also, she leaves everything at the small kitchen and all of us has to go and self-service. That is a problem because the kitchen is really small. She should leave everything but the coffe at the dining-room, and before 8am.

Is not strange you make a comment like that, you where coming from Brazil and although complain about them, and breakfast is served at 9:00am those are our rules, besides that you booked a Dorm and slept in all the clean beds you can use, and my bunk beds are big, 2mm and 1,30mm no excuse for that.

This was the most wonderful hostel that I've stayed at in South America. The rooms were bright with super comfy, the bathrooms were clean, the owner, Karen, was absolutely wonderful and so helpful with getting around, it just really felt like a home. I've never been so comfortable hanging out, sleeping, eating, etc, in a hostel like in this one. If you go to Santiago stay in this hostel. It's smaller than most hostels but it attracts wonderful people. I met really great people there. Thanks!
