The lady at the front desk was extremely cooperative. Real good value for the money. I have no doubts, if I return to Madrid I certainly will stay at the hostal luz again.

Lady at front counter did not speak a lick of English, but was very nice and kept speaking Spanish although we had no clue what she was saying. Walls of rooms was paper thin, I think I actually heard the people in the other room breath at night. Nice computers though.

The staff was nice and friendly, the location was excellent, the room was OK, a little bit small, but clean. The bathroom on the floor was clean, but there were no soap, nor paper towels. The breakfast was poor, and the lack of kitchen facilities is a problem. But overall, I liked the place.

As fotos dos quartos mais baratos não correspondem ao que é divulgado no site. E as senhoras que respondem pelo albergue tem grande alternância de humor sendo, por vezes, mal educadas com os clientes.

Very good value for money. I was welcomed warmly by the owner, and given lots of useful information. The hotel was very clean everywhere, and the location is asolutely fantastic. If travelling on a budget, it's a great place to stay.

The location is perfect, not far away from the oyal palace, the metro station Opera is 100 metres, plaza de Sol is only 200 metres. The breakfast is not in the same building in the Traviata restaurant which is located 100 metres from the LUZ. We were satisfied with breakfas quality. Rooms are cleaned daily. If Your intention is to see a lot famous Madrid places- this hostel location is really for You !

I thought the place was great until the owner decided to treat me as if I was her child. I did not like the way she spoke to me and she was very unreasonable when I tried to speak to her. I also did not like the fact that my friend's brand new, very expensive dress went missing. Like the owner said, "things don't just disappear." I don't know what happened to the dress but all I know is that neither my friend, nor myself have it. It is too bad that it had to end that way.

I stayed for a week on Hostal Luz in Madrid and I gotta say it`s one of the best hostels I have stayed in Europe. I paid around $40 a night for a private room and I really enjoyed it. It`s one block from the metro and 4 blocks from Plaza Sol, the heart of Madrid. The front desk lady is very helpful. I`ll recommend it anytime

It does the job and is pretty good for the price you pay. The only issue I had was that the walls are paper thin. I could not sleep due to noisy neighbours in the next room.

It was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hostal was located in an awesome place, very near to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. There were many shops, restaurants and dinners close to the hostal. Breakfast was served in a very nice cafe and the food was simple but very good and the staff very nice too.
