You get your money's worth- nothing extravagant but clean and a good location. They gave us fresh towels and made our beds every day, and the desk staff spoke English and were very helpful.

This is a very a very simple and very clean hostel which made this 50-something solo female traveler feel safe with no worries about unexpected weirdness. The room is spartan, but sufficient, and the bathroom was clean with a a shower that produced a reliable supply of nice warm water. There wasn't much charm to be had, but I would recommend this hostel for anyone who wants a safe, secure, and clean place to sleep.

I was given double bed, although I only booked a single which was cool, the room was extremely clean and well presented, it also had a TV which was a cheeky bonus. However there was no wardrobe, only a few hangers and hooks to place clothes (wasn't too much of a problem as I was only there one night before flying out) The bathroom was also very clean, the only problem was that I was regularly woken up by 2 other guests that were in the adjacent rooms (I wasn't too happy at 1, 2, and 3 O'clock)

Pros:very clean, newly renovated bathrooms, excellent location and great staffs. Cons: thin walls, allows you to hear everything from the entire floor, not great for meeting people(but I was fine with it)

Brilliant location & brilliant staff... Great value for money... Not recommended for backpackers travelling alone looking to party

Excellent no-frills hostel for someone wanting a simple uninterrupted stay in Madrid. The hostel rooms are set up very much like a hotel and provide a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. Wifi functions well throughout the building and the showers are reasonable. The only real probably was the fact that there is only one toilet per floor which is of course sometimes occupied, however this isn't a huge issue with the smaller number of rooms.

Small and cozy. Not very lively but Madrid is lively enough haha.

I have stayed at several hostels in Madrid (4 or 5) and the Hostel Machin is by far the best that I've stayed at. It has a great location just off of Gran Via and is exceptionally clean. I stayed in the individual room on the second floor which has a great terrace. I couldn't be more pleased with my stay there.
