I stayed here 3 times A cheap option a 10 minute walk from the old centre and attractions. The place is funky and colorful, every room is different and decorated. The bathrooms are a bit dingy, and TP is not provided. Funny, the same room for 1 person is 8 bucks, but 2 people pay 20 for the same room.

Stayed a few nights in a double room. The good: clean, well maintained. It's really cheap. The location isn't too far from the old centre or the new town. The Bad: walking to the new town isn't advised at night. And seeing as there aren't any decent restaurants or night life near by you'll need a taxi. That adds another $5 each way to the price of the night's accommodation. The Internet didn't quite stretch to our room but worked ok in communal areas. Showers went from ice cold to scalding hot.

For it's price it's a perfect place to stay. Rooms are really nice and clean. The localisation is very good. The only disadvantage is water-not very hot.

im a 57 year old male traveler, musician, and at $8.50 a night ,not much to complain about, i stayed here a extra 4 nights , making a total of 8 nights. it was quiet most of the time, and the beds are comfortable, i slept well. wifi, worked most of the time. had a very nice roof top, centrally located , although i was told many times ,its not a safe area, so came back early and sometime by cab. metro nearby. can put own lock outside of room, shower tricky ,but lots of hot showers. did my visa here

It's located in the middle of most places so be prepared to take busses. However, walking to the historic center is a pleasant walk.

There was only one shower for many of us as the other one was broken. There was little atmosphere and It felt as though we were in a quiet part of town, few restaurants or bars and had to walk quite a while to the main touristy areas. The kitchen is awful only 2 pans, 2 bowls and 2 forks plus it s filthy. Having said that the staff were very helpful and these private/double rooms are the same price as dorms in other hostels.

Great deal. For the price really good. Extremely clean!

Good hostal, same price for your own room than a dormitario in a other place, the owner is cool, it's clean, it's safe, close to the center and bus. I recomand it ;)

Staff was very rude. Originally booked 4 nights, but upon arrival disliked atmosphere (stoners and loud music) and the room (needed Wi-Fi for work, but they couldn't allocate me a room with that). So I chose to leave and offered to pay the rest of the money from my deposit for the first night. They told me to pay a full nights worth more. I tried to explain them about the deposit, they got angry and kept trying to call someone. I felt uncomfortable and ended up paying almost double for the night

The owner and staff members are all very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Wifi worked well. Great value. Would definitely stay again!!

If I come back to Quito, hostel Marsella is my place. For $10 a night, it feels like a hotel. Highly recommend
