We arrived on a late flight, and the taxi drive had trouble finding the hotel. But once there, the staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel was a convenient walk to Simon Bolivar statue, San Blas and Old Town, and close to one of the the Trolly Lines, but the hotel staff warned us not to walk near the park after dark.

Good hostel, good location, great views of the city from the rooftop. Clean and very economical.

I made a reservation via hostelworld which they didn't process, but since there weren't too many people, this was not a big deal in the end. Staff seemed to be annoyed by guests at time. Rooms are nice and the bathroom was shiny and clean. Good budget option.

The rooms were clean, staff was nice though nobody speaks english there(well some people get what u say but they cant talk to you) and wifi is poor(you have to exit your room and even then it's so-so).

I stayed 3 night there, the price of my private room was really cheap and the room was big and clean. This hostel has a great location next to the historic center itd not an hostel for backpackers its hard to meet other people from the hostel but its a clean and nice hostel

Staff was not accommodating and didn't check online for our friends reservation and then went on to tell them they didn't have a room. Also very unfriendly and didn't respond well to questions.

We stayed there 4 nights and didn't move around because the hostel was cheap and we didn't want to carry the bags to look around in new town. The location is between old town and new town, not most convenient but good enough. There is a super market close by. We saw more locals than travelers in hostel. We used the kitchen for instant noodle but later realize the kitchen is properly for family use only. Takes about 15-20 to walk to old town or new town. Water was not always hot for shower.

We only had one night in Quito so we wanted to stay near the old town. Hostel Marsella was perfectly placed. The owner provided us with a map on arrival and gave us some excellent local information on where to go. We cannot fault this place and will stay here again we return to Quito in a few nights.

This hostel is about a 15 minute walk to the new town and although it is ok to walk in the day you need to get a taxi back at night, this added at least $ 3 to our bill each night ($5 if I is past 1:00 am) pay a bit more and stay closer to the new town. This said this was a good no frills hostel for the price and we asked for a taxi for 5:30 am to take us to the airport and the driver was already waiting in reception when we got there.

Not the first time that I stayed here and it is by far the best value for money you can find in Quito, especially in such a location, both, close to the Historic Center as well as to the Mariscal. The staff and especially the boss is extremely friendly and every time I was here, I met super nice people!
