The smell in our room was really bad, coming from the lavatory sink. We managed to tap it so it was bearable. I believe it cloud be fixed.

A great budget alternative to staying in a hostel. This is not the prettiest of places nor a place to come to meet other travelers but it is excellent value for money if you just want a cheap, basic, centrally located place to sleep. For the same price as you would pay in many hostels to share a bedroom with 6 other people, you get your own room and sink, and a good nights undisturbed sleep. I highly recommend this place if that's what you're after. Beware that the bathrooms are very basic tho.

The hostal seems to be an entire apartment building..and you can hear anything that is going on..especially on nights from Saturday to Sunday. The following days were rather quiet as there were hardly any guests. The staff was helpful and depending on the receptionist who was there they were very friendly or absolutely not/ seemed bored.. Overall it was okay staying there. The location is absolutely perfect though and the prices are quite good.

Great location, very nice staff (both English and Spanish speaking), nice old-fashioned character of the place, the bed was comfortable, there's wi-fi in the lobby and reception is open 24h - that's pretty much all the basics covered, right?

Excellent location, reasonable rates, clean, well-appointed rooms. I had a wonderful room with a balcony facing the street with a slight view of Port Vell. The toilets could use proper sinks and soap however.
