The best from all the hostels we went during our trip in Panama! Secure, clean, well situated... nothing bad to say about it! Nancy, the crazy receptionist can entertain you and others during the evening or can cook some pancakes, papaya and really good coffee the morning! Also, the owner is very nice (try the hot springs with him during the night, it worth it!). If you're looking to a nice and quiet place to have a good sleep, but also have some crazy nights, don't go anywhere else than Nomba!

Hostel overcharged for activities which other hostels charged less than half for. The owner appears very focused on money at the bar and partying. The owner charged visitors different prices for outings/gear, and stated that my girlfriend had an unpaid tab at the bar when she did not drink. Breakfast is supposed to be included, but sometimes the workers "forget" to prepare it. Room was spacious and affordable. Bathroom had hot water, small community, friendly travelers. Kitchen for private rooms

Owner Comment (Show)
Guests were confused about our price scale and that different numbers of people render different prices. No-one charges anything that is not purchased of course and yes, during the holidays, we help guests who are away from family have a good time. Breakfast is self serve, so preparing it... well, that's for you to do. NOTE: Apparently these guests did enjoy the facilities, i.e. room where unfortunately they had to spend most their time sick. Understandably it can be difficult enjoying yourself when you drink bad water as they had mentioned.

The hostel was wonderful, welcoming, clean, and delivered on our expectations. A great value at a great price, with a central location ONE BLOCK AWAY from the town square! A beautfuly mountain view from the front of the hostel, with adventure trips scheduled at the front desk (hiking, hot springs, coffee plantation tours, etc.).

Hostal Nomba is a very nice place to stay. As it is not too big, it has a lot of character and you easily interact with staff and other people staying there. It is also nice that they have a bar and hangout area.

The hostel is attached to mirador adventures. The staff are helpful but give inconsistent information and are always trying to push you to take their tours and book stuff through them so they can make a commission. It's nice that they have some free hikes and a cool night hike to the hot springs ($29) but the rooms are old and murky and there is barely any hot water in the showers.

These guests extended their stay by 3 days, not usually characteristic of unsatisfied people. We also were also able to accomodate Skye, boyfriend, and two friends on a coffee tour, free guided area hiking,as well as a hotsprings trip. Seems hardly characteristic of a bad stay.
