It's very nice hostel. Good atmosphere, good location. Very affable stuff. The owner of hostel can speak in 8 languages (include English, Spanish, Russian and even Indu). For New Year party we got a gift. It was very kindly!

Area was near everything but staff was rude. I called a days in advance to cancel one room (our friends couldn't come with us). They said it was fine. When we showed up they charged us for 4 people instead of two because no one made record of our call. It's good that they have a buzzer to get in the door but there's no camera so they let everyone in. We were not shown around so I have no Idea if there's a kitchen area or anything else. We step out of the elevator and it's pitch black.

I didn't even stay in Hostal Numancia, once I got there they walked me over to hostal Fuentemar down the road which I was actually happy about because I later found out that a friend's bed in Hostal Numancia had bedbugs. Hostal Fuentemar was also cheaper and the staff is nice, its not somewhere you would go for fun, it's just a cheap place to stay for a couple nights.

Excellent hostel, good location,5mins max walk to all locations in the centre. Quite safe. rooms a bit small in the double private. Could do with a refurbishment but cheap for the centre of Madrid.Staff very friendly but overcharged me by 20euros! They didn't take into account the hostel world deposit.Hopefully refund will be given. No complaints though as it was good for the price!! ;)
