a reasonable hostel on outwards appearances, though very dirty and noisy and not well situated. i decided to leave and get a private room elsewhere. They refused to refund any of my remaining 4 nights even though their policy was 24 hours notice. overall, the staff were very rude and confrontational even though i wasn't trying to be. not recommended at all! there are many better places to stay in this great city.a reasonable hostel on outwards appearances, though very dirty and noisy and not well situated. i decided to leave and get a private room elsewhere. If you want to change your reservation, the staff at this Hostel made it very difficult. After I had to pay in full, the owner stepped in a number of days later. Perhaps they have dealt with this, as the owner was quite nice and fixed the problem, but the staff seem a bit uninformed and don't know how to find more information to help you.If you want to change your reservation, the staff at this Hostel made it very difficult. Very nice hostel, a little bit of a walk to the Zocalo but a nice quiet street! The staff were friendly, I missed the free breakfast by sleeping too late, but I hear it was yummy!Very nice hostel, a little bit of a walk to the Zocalo but a nice quiet street! Very noisy rooms. No soundproofing. Mens toilet stinks. No bar or any facilities. Seriously overpriced for what it is. Not good value, would not recommend.Very noisy rooms. No soundproofing. Really lovely staff and a very relaxed atmosphere. It is a quite hostel (and low season) so not too many other people around. Would denifnitely stay again.
We ended up staying here an extra night! The hostal is friendly and welcoming with English speaking staff who are knowledgable about the area. Breakfast is substantial and delicious and the room was clean, comfortable and quiet.
The hostal staff put on a party for Mexico Independence day and it was the best food we\'d eaten in all our time in Mexico. A really fun and relaxing place to stay and very convenient for Oaxaca city centre.Would denifnitely stay again.

I stayed here for four non-consecutive nights, and they held my bag when I was away hiking. The hostel overall is clean, and includes a hearty breakfast. It is a bit far from the center of town, although there are some nearby markets. The biggest problem with the hostel is that the common areas (TV, internet, tables for sitting and eating) are outside. That means that while I am using internet, I am enduring the second-hand smoke from other people outside and getting bitten by mosquitos.I stayed here for four non-consecutive nights, and they held my bag when I was away hiking. I wouldn't recommend this place at all! It's not clean, far away from the zocalo, thus unsafe to walk back to the hostel at night, and some staff doesn't seem particularly welcoming. I didn't realize we have to pay for the towel and deposit for the key. The only positive point is that the hostel has a good collection of guide books to refer to.
