The hostel seems to be part of a hotel, however the dormitory is in a complete time wrap and seems that all the old matresses etc from the hostel rooms have been put here, they pretty much all need replacing. The near see through door on the shower and the half door on the shower and toilet in the dorm leave little privacy. You can get alot more for your money. With this standard the price needs to be reduced drastically.

Booked first a dorm, but changed to private because that was just 10.000 more. Private are good value, dorm is not. In the morning lot of noise from outside and lack of privacy in shower/toilet. They are in the room and the doors are semi open and don't close properly. Internet didn't work, staff said it was a problem in the whole neighbourhood, but the cafes around the corner had internet.

The main issue I had with staying at Hostal Real was that it was not a smoke free environment. We were in a room on the first floor and when we turned on our ceiling fan it drew the cigarette smoke into our room. We would not stay here again because of the smoking.

great place and the guy that runs it is amazing... and they have this awesome parrot and a couple turtles that made little baby turtles there...... lots of character

nStaff very kind and helpful. Made our stay special. Also, visiting parrot added to the fun.

Location is excellent, all of the tourist locations are within walking distance. Staff very helpful and helped with my future travels.
