My friend, Eva and I were very pleased with Hostal Rober. It was almost like staying with friends. Many thanks again for rescuing and safe keeping my money envelope which i had accidentally left at the front desk. My only less than perfect comment is that when I showered at seven the morning we left the water was merely tepid. It was hot when I used it just before leaving at nine.

We had a pleasant stay at Hostal Residencial Rober. Great location, very clean place (room and common areas), very good wi-fi. The staff is not that friendly, but it was ok.

Good Location and easy to find, near Opera Metro Station and not far from Sol Metro Station.

The hostel has the most lovely staff. Very friendly, 24 hours available and trying their best to undestand our bad spanish :) It was clean, in the middle of the centre but still very quiet during the nights. Very good value for money, would recommend this hostel to anyone going to Madrid.

We rented a 3 person room which faced Calle del Arenal. Great location. The only complaint was the bathroom where it was impossible to sit straight on the toilet bacause it was so close to the bathtub. Fortunately there was a common use bathroom to alleviate the situation.

The owners were wonderful! Despite the language barrier, they were so willing to help us with anything we needed. And it was in the perfect location! Highly recommend staying here!

The location is fantastic, walking distance to 2 metro stations in the city center. The staff are very friendly and warm-hearted although some of them cannot speak English. There're a lot of restaurants and cafe nearby where you can get food. The only problem is the hot water supply after midnights ( I could not get hot water at 4.30 am when I tried to catch an early train. )

Extremely friendly staff. Very safe -- the room came with a safe for 1 euro, but we never used it because there was a dresser that locked, so we could just take the key with us and not worry about our stuff. The staff also frequently cleaned the room. Beautiful fifth-floor view with a balcony, and in very close proximity to two Metro stations, as well as the royal palace and Plaza de Mayor.

Absolutely wonderful. Felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Only negative was that they didn't speak much English (depending on who was working), if at all. I would recommend brushing up on your Spanish before you get there. Other than that, it was great and I would highly recommend staying here.

Clean rooms, bang in the city center of Madrid. No complaints from me and its affordability meant I'd more money in my pocket to enjoy my weekend. Staff were nice too.

Clean room, friendly staff, excellent location. We couldn't ask for anything better. The only thing we missed is a kettle in the room but we would definitely stay again here.

I really liked Hostal Rober. The staff were really friendly, and our room was cozy. The view outside our windows was great - an old, beautiful building. Warning to those looking to meet others - the only people I saw during our stay were staff but they were friendly.
