I had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Hostel Rural. The guys who worked there were awesome, super friendly and helpful. They threw an asado (bbq) while we were there, it was a ton of fun. The atmosphere was chill, cool common area with hammocks to hang out and talk with people from all over the world!

This is fun hostel with a great outdoor social area. Despite previous reports all the dorms had lockable lockers and there were also seperate keys for each dorm. The kitchen is small but very functional. The location could not be better with less than a minutes walk to all the facilities that you could need. The hostel organised great tours for us and were very helpful at ironing out and minor problems that we had. They also organised the best Asado I have had in all of Latin America, a MUST!!

Good value for money, as lots of the hostels in San Pedro are very expensive. Breakfast is not included. Lots of the comments say that this hostel does not have lockers, but my dorm did. The staff didn't give me a particularly warm welcome, but were able to help me when I had questions. No indoor communal area and you have to go outside to get to the bathrooms, but that seems to be the norm for San Pedro hostels.

A very good athmosphere, good vibes, lot of fun, and great meetings. Definitely a place to stay in San Pedro de Atacama. The Staff helps us so much for everything, giving us advice for trips around, and keep our backpacks safely for our 4 days trip in Uyuni. Higly recommend !!!

I've never contributed to Trip Advisor before, but use it for recommendations all the time, but Hostal Rural was such a fantastic stay that we had to tell people about it! The value for money for this place was brilliant. We were made to feel at home when we walked through the door and this continued throughout our stay. The amazingly painted walls and deco were all done by hand and look beautiful. Every member of staff was attentive to our needs and were hospitable and approachable at all hours

I liked the place! The only thing that could be improved: there are no lockers and the bunk-beds were squeaking very loudly so i woke up if anybody of the six within the little room turned around.

Great relaxed hostel that is very central, comfortable, and welcoming. Kitchen. Warm water. Good value for the Atacama Desert.

The Security is non existent, no lockers and the staff seem a little shady. The intercom at the main gate doesnt work so its a pain just to get into the hostel when youre a guest there so its usually just left open. The staff were not very helpful and kind of rude. The facilities are horrible. the kitchen has close to nothing in it and is the size of a closet. Youre only allowed to use the internet from 930-2100. In all this hostel was just annoying to stay at and I couldnt wait to move on.

Only stayed one night, nice and quiet. Very cosily. Small kitchen, towels for hire and cold showers on the downside. Friendly staff who takes you out on tours if you'd like. Security was really bad, only one key to each room and it hung by the reception so anyone could grab it, no lockers. location is right in the town centre, by the main street.

The dorm was very small. The beds were very creaky and no ladder. The common area right outside our dorm so noisy until people decided to go to bed. There was only one plug in the dorm.Wifi was terrible,it dropped all the time. There were only two showers which were either freezing or burning hot.The kitchen was miniscule. For these reasons I feel this place was completely overpriced, but perhaps that is San Pedro in general. The staff were friendly but pushed their tours a bit too much.

This was my favourite hostel from the 3 months I was in South America. It is so pretty and has a really nice outdoor area with table tennis and a lovely hammock area. The staff were lovely, especially Nono and the ginger dreadlock guy. San Pedro de Atacama is an amazing place and the hostel was really fitting of the area. You couldn't get a better location either. I'd highly recommend Hostel Rural.

We LOVED this hostel. The dorms and bathrooms were clean and there were self catering facilities with restaurants, bars and mini markets close by. Hans and Juan who worked at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We booked all our tours around San Pedro through the hostel which was really convenient as we got picked up outside. Great value for money with the hammocks and ping pong table in the courtyard a nice touch. Good wifi connection. Would recommend and definately stay here again.

When I arrived I was impressed about the wonderful atmosphere at the Hostal Rural. I enjoyed especially hanging around in the "patio" were you could relax in several hamaks and getting in touch with the other travellers. The dorms are clean and friendly. Kitchen and Internet are available. They have great and really helpful staff. I really enjoyed my stay.
