Excellent staff very welcoming and friendly. The environment of the hostel was very relaxed and comfortable. The rooms are small and can feel a little cramped with six people. Overall great experience and great people.

Great hostel. Fire every night makes it easy to socialise. Staff were very good at organising tours, organised my next days tours at 10 and 11pm the night before! Natanael and the rest of the staff were great and always willing to help. Great location, just off the main street, definitely recommend.

Great staff and fun, lively atmosphere-- especially sitting around the fire at night or in the hammocks during the day. Be warned that the rooms are small and kinda dark. Still, a great place to spend a few days and I'd definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

Easily the most chill hostel I've stayed with in South America. Staff are friendly and very sociable, bonfires every night to beat the cold desert winter nights, located half a block from the main street. Showers go cold after a few minutes, but it is a desert, so what do you expect?

Stayed there 4 nights, great staff very relaxed environment... on the downside they were doing construction right above my room which was super loud and went on until after 7. Also, the music is blasted in the courtyard until midnight which is great if you're out there hanging out but not so great when you've got a 5am bus to catch.

This hostel was amazing! The staff was really nice, their tours were awesome and the location was perfect! I really recommend to stay at this hostel and book the tours with them! It's a bit more expensive, but all hostels are more expensive around San Pedro! Showers were cold, you have to ask for hot water (I didn't know I had to ask...)

Very cool hostel, with wicked managers that can help with anything at all you need! Very easy to book tours through the hostel as well and we'll priced compared to around town.

It's a nice hostel with a good atmosphere. However, we didn't get a very good sleep. They offer tours starting at 5 in the morning but they are pretty loud until late. One night the music was very loud and we were unable to sleep. We asked the staff if they could turn it down a little bit, but when we went back to bed they turned it up. There was no toilet paper a lot of the times which was pretty annoying. We had a decent stay but we wouldn't stay again.

hands down the best hostel ive ever stayed in! as a solo traveller it was nice to feel like i was coming home at the end of everyday. Hector and Nathan are awesome, kind, funny people and i would highly reccomend this hostel to anyone. No breakfast but thats pretty standard in San Pedro. Sitting by the fire everynight is the best! Thanks hostal Rural for making good memories for me in San Pedro de Atacama :)

Awesome place! full of nice people, always up for some fun. And the guys from the reception are very cool and nice, they make you feel at home, and always saying something nice to you. Finally, it is perfectly ubicated, near everything.

Really cool place with a sunken chill out area and a fire at night to chill beside giving it a great atmosphere. WiFi can be a bit temperamental and kitchen a but small but otherwise great.

Not worth the money

Rural was a lovely chilled hostel. The beds were so comfy and big. Each bed had a light and a charge point. There were also small lockers with chargers inside so you could charge things overnight or while you were out doing things. Hector and Nathaniel were both really helpful and gave great tips about what to do. I booked my salt flat tour with them and it was really good. The hostel had a good atmosphere. They put a fire in every night and you can sit around and chat to the other travellers.

Loved it. Staff (Hector and Nathaniel) were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and generally quite awesome. Was easy to book all tours from the hostel and they advised me on what to do and where to do it (moonlight sandboarding definitely more than worth the sand in my butt). The only thing missing was a lock for the locker, but luckily there were plenty of guests in this fine establishment to lend me one. Also, the evening campfires and chill out zone (complete with books in Dutch!) were great!

Great hostel! Helpful and friendly staff. Tours you can book through the hostel are very good. Only one bathroom with a shower but that was never a problem :)

Hostal Rural was great, there's a reason why everyone wanted to extend and it was always full! Nathaniel and Hector are absolute legends who played non stop good music and they were always making sure you were satisfied with the tours they booked for you. Very easy to book different tours and activities from the hostel and they were always good.

Issue with sound after midnight. It's more like 1:30 or 2:00 am
