Hostal Rural was great, there's a reason why everyone wanted to extend and it was always full! Nathaniel and Hector are absolute legends who played non stop good music and they were always making sure you were satisfied with the tours they booked for you. Very easy to book different tours and activities from the hostel and they were always good.
The most beautiful hostel I habe sen so far.
Issue with sound after midnight. It's more like 1:30 or 2:00 am

I understand the need for growth, but as construction was happening above us, there was sand and dirt all over our floor and beds. We were in room #2.
Hector and Nathaniel were both awesome. Gave great recommendations for places to eat and tours to take. Great social vibe at the hostal. Lots of hammocks and areas to chill out. Good kitchen and always a hot shower.
The hostel was great mainly because Nathaniel is so helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy San Pedro de Atacama. The artwork, hammocks an feel of the hostel is really chilled and makes for a great place to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Rural! Main reasons being that the atmosphere and staff were great. The hostel is laid back with good common areas, making it easy to meet other travelers and relax between tours. Nate at the front desk was an absolute dude! Super friendly and helpful with booking tours.

Delightful decor. Wonderful staff - they felt like friends! Hammocks in the shade for the daytime and a fire in the courtyard at night. Very pleasant atmosphere- everybody got talking - but also very respectful of others, so quiet at night and first thing in the morning. Only downside was the occasional wait for the bathrooms- but they are extending the space so this may become a thing of the past. If you want a different experience, stay at the Rural.
This hostel is amazing! It has so much character and fun decorations. There is a fire every night and great music all day. The staff was amazing Nathaniel was so helpful in booking tours for us and giving us advise. He really made our stay there so much better! Was so appreciative of his help and sincerity. Extra bonus is great wifi here too!
It's a nice hostel, with confortable beds. There's no breakfast though. Very near the main street so you can easily go out. there was some construction going on when I stayed there so it was a bit noisy. Staff was nice and helped with tours and shuttle to the airport
Had a great time with the hosts who work here. They were doing construction when we were there, so there was no time to get peace and quiet during the day. Obviously this will change, but it was a bit of a pain. Great hostel though
A fantastic hostel with great atmosphere! Great location and Superb staff, you should definately choose Rural for your stay in San Pedro :0)
Had the best time at Rural. Booked for two nights and ended up staying for a week. Nathaniel and Hector are the best and extremely helpful for booking tours and making sure your time in San Pedro is amazing. Great facilities, perfect location the centre of town, comfy beds, and the common area is awesome for hanging out. Can't say enough about the staff and everyone I met at Rural. They made it one of my favourite places to stay so far in South America. Definitely stay here!
Very nice hippie-style hostel. Staff are great. Expect Bob Marley songs running at some nights.
Messed up our booking so were turned away at 1am with nowhere to stay. Staff were nice when we went to get our deposit refunded the next day
Such a lovely hostel. The staff, Hector and Nathaniel were amazingly helpful and friendly, sorted out tours for us and had great advice on places to go. The atmosphere was fun and chilled out especially with the amazing hammocks and cute den. Was one of our favourite hostels and we'd recommend it to anyone and stay there again!
Nice, chilled out hostel. Staff are really friendly and come on trips. 4 bed dorm was nice - decent size and decent bed. No breakfast (as stated). Only thing that spoiled this was cold showers. Booked the salt flat tour to Uyuni through the hostel and was very happy with this.
Probably the best hostel i stayed in in south america! This was mainly due to the staff. Hector and Natanael are truly the best staff members you can imagine, at least the best i ever met: they're really friendly and helpfull! with booking tours or anything else you might need. Atmosphere in the hostel was really good too.

Awesome hostel to chill at. Always good music playing and hammocks to relax on. The staff Hector and Panda (Nathaniel) are legends. Always there to help with anything you need; booking tours, recommendations on places to go etc. would definitely stay here again.
Best hostel ever! Amazing hammocks to lay in and relax. Fantastic atmosphere. The staff is the BEST! Easy to walk to from the bus station and close to an ATM and grocery stores. Probably the best hostel in Chile and maybe South America. Perfection!
