Actually it has 2 stars so it has basic hotel comfort things like towels, shampoo, toilet, bathroom and hairdryer for free. No breakfast option, that's bad. The location is really really good. If you like walking, the farthest tourist attraction is 30 minutes away. If you don't like it, metro station is only a few minutes away. Don't expect facilities like bar, cafe etc. There is none of them. Also, sound isolation is really bad. We had serious problems with our neighbors' playlist at 3AM.

It is a very good, clean and reliable place. But, the room was much smaller that I thought.

This is a very good hostel to stay in especially if you are on a very short trip to Madrid. Located in the very heart of the city, one can be assured of the very real and happening part of the city. The room we lived in is very neat, clean, and spacious. Only one thing that may be disturbing is the thin walls that will allow to hear and be heard of by the people next door.

We had a great stay in Madrid. Hostel was clean, warm and welcoming- perfect for our short break and ideally located. The hostel staff were helpful with pre-arrival information and at the end of our stay allowed us to leave our bags with them as we had an evening flight. A great hostel- would recommend to anyone who wants good value for money.

I was in room 87 which is a private single room, however the sound proofing was really bad and I could hear everything in the hall and reception area.

The staff was great, helped me in everything. I felt really welcome and well served. Location was great, walking distance to every major sightseeing place in the center of Madrid.

Really beautiful hotel with a fascinating elevator in a perfect spot in Madrid. Near the underground but all main tourist attractions are within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and it was a generally very pleasant experience.

AMAZING location! AMAZING staff. Along with very spacious and clean rooms. This Hostal is located very near a subway station, but if you don't mind walking a little, you are walking distance from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and many more. One unexpected thing was that the place is located on the 7th and 8th floor, and the building has this tiny elevator that will only fit a few people, making a hassle at times. There are also no common rooms, so you won't be seeing many other travelers.

Really nice stay .. really helpful staff .. very clean and has a very good wifi connection .. i really enjoyed it . I had taken a single room with shared bathroom .. but my room had a bath and a wash basin .. just the toilet was shared. The toilet was very clean and they used to clean it almost twice a day. i felt it was a bit expensive for a hostel and it did not provide complementary bfast or anythin .. but considering the location and connectivity , it was totallyt worth it.

Excellent, couldn't fault it. Perfect location on the busiest street in Madrid (gran via). Great security, keys for front door, apartment, and room. Metro stations extremely close by and more than 1 as well. Short walking distance to many hot spots Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were standard as what you would expect for a hostel but they were cleaned everyday, provided with fresh new towels, water was hot. Could go and come whenever you pleased. Would definitely stay again

very good location, easy to walk to any important places of local interests. The entrance to the building seemed to me very impressive, looking like a very important place.

Great located place, easy to access and to get around. Nicely furnished, well equipped rooms, could be good value for money, though the walls are paper thin and you hear everything that’s happening out at the common area. (reception, vending machine). Despite of the home rules not to make noise after 11pm the owners/staff(?) had a gathering that prevented me from sleeping till about 1-2 am then being woken up by some drunken ppl shouting at the vending machine. This ruined the whole experience

Santillan is rather a small hotel than a hostel. I stayed there for 4 nights in a single ensuite, room was comparatively spacious and comfortable. The hostel is located within a walking distance to main attractions and staff was very friendly at all times.
