Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They did, however, begin construction at 7am which echoed through the whole building. It was extremely loud. The sink in our suite broke with water spraying everywhere. It was noisy until well after midnight- one could hear other guests through the wall. If you don't mind early mornings and late nights for noise, this place is in a good location and very affordable.
The location is great. The building is wonderful open villa style with high ceiling. The staff is friendly and very helpful even early in the morning! Bathrooms in the dorm could be cleaned more often (especially the trash basket for toilet paper).
Great value for money, couldn't ask for a better location.
Santo Domingo was fine. I was traveling with a group that I met in Mexico City. When we arrived we were told conflicting things about alcohol in the hostel. It is not allowed anywhere, as we later found out. Of course that isn't a deal breaker. However, in the mixed dorm there are only 6 lockers for 18 beds (4 of us shared 1 locker) and anyone can walk in off the street at anytime. The breakfast was basic and the shower awful. They do provide towels and the wifi works. But I wouldn't go back
There were no keys for the dorms so everybody can go in and only small lockers, so for a big backpack no chance to lock it, so very easy to steal things. The atmosphere was ok. Good breakfast
Stayed one night in a private room which was nice although the wifi didn't reach it, the place was virtually empty so no atmosphere to speak of, staff were friendly, breakfast was good.
