Nice hostel that was pretty quiet when we stayed there. The 6-bed dorm was 6 twin beds rather than three bunk beds which was nice since it meant there was a lot more floor space per person. This dorm also had one locker for each bed, too. Water was hot but like almost every place in SA available only in the shower not the sinks.

I have been travelling South America for two months, and this was by far the best hostel I have stayed at! The location was perfect, being about 5 minutes walk from the main square, and the rooms were spacious with comfy beds. But what made this hostel stand out was the great customer service. The lady at reception (sorry I didn't catch your name) was AMAZING, with everything from booking tours, to recommending sights within the city, to being generally friendly - could have stayed forever! :)

The hotel was mostly quiet, even though it was fully booked. when we returned from a 3-day hike through Colca Cayon the front desk staff was preoccupied with a screaming child, which grated on everyone's nerves. We signed up for a tour through the hotel to visit sites in the Sacred Valley that ended up being so touristy. We spent so much time stopping at markets to shop that we didn't have time to visit all of the sites on the tour. I would recommend asking more questions before signing up.
The hostel is in a great building with great terraces for catching the sun and views of the volcano and surrounding mountains. Location is great too with the main square a few minutes walk away. Staff were very helpful. Things to improve might include the lighting in room being really dim, the intercom going off loudly through the night and the charge of 7 soles to use the oven. Other than that it's a cool place in a great location in an amazing city.
Staff was really nice and helpful. Place is safe and near to the main square. Beds are comfortable but bathroom ensuite was not cleaned daily.
Rang through the day before to say we would be arriving at midnight due to our bus and the lady assured me that they have a 24hr reception! Turned up an hour later than expected, no answer to the buzzer of telephone leaving is to find a new hostel! but they did return my deposit straight away without fuss and apologised profusely!
The place is great. Big lounging area with pool table, ping pong, and music. Beds were comfortable and the room was a nice size. The staff went above and beyond for us, as we had a medical emergency in the middle of the night. They quickly got us an ambulance, and checked often to make sure we were ok after we got back. They also handled cancelling our tours for us, due to the aforementioned emergency, and we got a full refund. Thank you Hostal Sol de Oro!
Not much to look at from the outside but once in, it's surprisingly big with a huge amount of outdoor terrace space, a pool table area and general chill out spots. Great being within five minutes walk from the main square, five mins from the big supermarket near the bridge and really helpful staff for questions and booking excursions. Our double bed was perfect, clean and conmfortable. Only negative was the very small kitchen area for your own cooking, but quite manageable.
Very helpful staff, close to city center, nice and clean rooms! We gad a great tine there!
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good location, only a few blocks from the plaza. Room and bathroom clean, the private rooms upstairs are bigger so ask if they're free. The only thing is there were no lockers, but she locked my passport away in her safe. Would recommend.
Room was nice and clean. Close to Plaza de Armas but the street is a little bit lonely at night.
Nice staff. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, good breakfast, just need to improve internet connection.
cute hostel with nice terrace close to downtown Arequipa.

The staff was very helpful. They booked a bus ticket for us free of charge. Our room was a little bit cold as it didn't have a heater. However this is quite normal in Peru and they give you loads of blankets to make up for it. The room itself was basic but clean. Great value for money. Wifi signal in the room wasn't very good but it didn't matter too much to us.
Good location for town, only a five minute walk away. The room was spacious with a good sized private bathroom that always had hot water for the shower. Unfortunately when we stayed they were laying the road right outside the hostel so there was building noise quite late at night, but I guess that's a one off. Good breakfast, good facilities if you're staying in the hostel and good tours to book with them. Would recommend booking tours thru hostel as we screwed over by an agency in the Plaza.
The staff and their family who lived on the premises were friendly and helpful. The building was centrally located and had great charm. There were not many other guests when we were there, which is a shame as the facilities were designed for more higher occupancy. . Internet wifi was not working sometimes. The only real problem was that it was very easy to trip over when the foor level rise or fell a few centimetres. This hazard could have been better highlighted.
Great location and Staff. Children Friendly.
Quiet little hostel within walking distance to the city center. Staff was very helpful. I booked a tour and a bus through them. The dorm was small but tidy. In the description it says: "FREE security lockers in your room with power outlets inside". Unfortunately, in the 4-bed dorm I was staying, there were no lockers at all. Despite that, the hostel is safe.
The hostal is one of the best hostals so far. The girl Dayana really goes out of her way to you out with whatever it is you need or want to book. We booked a 2 day colca canyon tour and a flight over Nazca lines with Condor Nazca through her. The hostal as a whole and the tours they provide are an excellent value for money. The hostal has a pool table, table tennis etc. And also a nice terrace where you can hang out with wifi. Although the wifi can be a bit sketchy.
