I had stayed in a large but windowless room in Quito and was tired of being without a window. The small room with only a window opening up onto the lobby was too much for me. The staff was nice - and during my stay, they were in the building (didn\'t have to go across the street). The guy on duty let me switch rooms when my TV didn\'t work. Nice little place and great for the money - I just couldn\'t handle the lack of windows any longer.

The location was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. For the money the hostel was decent, but I didn't think it was the cleanest place Ive ever stayed. We stayed on the first floor with a private bathroom and the room just smelled a little stale. It is a good place if you are just looking for a well run, very reasonable hostel, and aren't worried about any of the perks. Wilson was the owner and is one of the nicest, most helpful hostel owners I have met in my travels.

The rooms were nice, but the bathrooms were a little worn. Wilson (the owner) was really nice, but once you check in you are kind of left to fend for yourself. If you know what you want to do in Cuenca I would say it's a very good place to stay, but if you don't know what is around you'll have to find a way to get some info on your own.

It is the first time we went to an hostel with no staff at all!!! We got the keys the day we arrived in the building accross the street and bye bye. We never saw any staff again for 3 days... So as it is normal there are no rules in the hostel, everybody do as they want.. We were unlucky to have the room with a glass wall to the tv room so we did not sleep any day before 4am because a guest wanted to watch tv loudly and just did not care when we asked to put the sound down! Horrible hostel!!!!!!

We really liked the staff. Wilson, Esperanza and Maria were so kind and helpful. I suggest a sign at the front instructing guests to ring the bell across the street when checking in or in the event of a problem.
