Nice, quiet and relaxed hostel. About 10 mins away from town so not too bad. Staff were really lovely and helpful. Facilities were always spotless. Kitchen has everything necessary for cooking.
Really helpful people, Juan Pablo a great guy and Matilde, who takes care that everything works right. No bunk beds, clean rooms and bathrooms. Nice common area. 10 min walking from the main street, only an issue, Tours for Bolivia booked by Luis are untruthful, they promise things that at the end you don't receive and be careful with a guide named Cristian, he took money from us (my friend and I paid a same thing double and he kept the money) but at the hostel they helped us. I will come back
Nice hostel and very cheap for San Pedro. Bit out of the way and the WiFi can be snail slow, but otherwise it is what you'd want from a hostel.
This place was excellent. The owners were very flexible, helpful and kind. They treated not just as a client but a guest. The place is a bit more far than most of the hostels of San Pedro, which might justify its low cost, but i didn't feel far and it never was a problem to get around for the tours or for a restaurant, plus it's right next to a mini market cheaper then the ones in the center. Even thought the hostel is not the cleanest I've been in, I totally recommend it.
Awsome hostel and staff!!! The facilities are great and the cleanliness as well!!! Just a little far from the Calle Caracoles (center), but 10 min walk is ok!
Great place! Close to town, a nice 5 minute walk. Nice clean rooms. Freindly staff. Top hostal, needs a Union Jack in the wifi area though.
Considering that the city is small and pretty safe, the 5 minute walk from the main road Caracoles wasn't a big issue. The hostel has hot water, is clean and the owner's are very nice people. There is also a mini market in the same road and this can be very helpfull to buy water and other stuff.
I had booked myself but upon arriving my three friends didn't have a bed. The hostel staff were so helpful and managed to find beds at the hostel for them when it seemed the whole town was full! I can not say enough about the staff. So friendly and helpful. We booked two tours through them which were great too. Wifi was a bit dodgy at time but the showers were hot! Would recommend.
Location was a bit of a walk outside the main area. Pretty clean rooms and facilities. Not very good water pressure and there was no hot water when I tried to shower. Not much atmosphere as not many people around in the common areas.
It's 5 min walking from the city center. That's far away if you compare to all the others hostels in town. There is a restaurant in front of it, good food for good price (around 2300 pesos/meal).
Staying at this hostel made our experience in San pedro fantastic - Jose was helpful and generous and the atmosphere was very nice and laid back. Thanks for a great stay!
Tuyasto was a great stay. The location is not great if you are looking to be in the middle of the action on Caracoles street, but it's still only about a 5-10 minute walk to the main drag. Juan Pablo was great and helped get tours organized for us at the last minute which was super helpful. The kitchen was a bit small, but the outdoor/common area (where all the rooms faced) was great for relaxing. We even got little parting gifts (bags with drawstrings with the Tuyasto patch)!
The Hostal Tuyasto met my expectations for quality of service and hospitality for sure. I have to thank the owners of Hostal, Matilde and Jose and the entire staff during my stay, they made all the difference.Really the opinions that were described on the website hostelworld made me choose without doubt the best hostel in San Pedro de Atacama. I recommend everyone Hostal Tuyasto sure. Pro: Supermarket is near,View of the volcano behind the streat, Fair Handicraft closer at hostal. Rafa Silva

Matilda, the owner of this place is so hospitable and welcoming! She is amazing. The hostel is slightly outside of the city center, but everything in the center is so overpriced that this is well worth the extra 5 min walk. When we left Matilda gave us hugs and a small present - so friendly. If you are coming from Bolivia over the boarder by bus, get off at the customs check point and don't go to the city center. The hostel is 100 yards / meters from the checkpoint. Private room was very nice.
Stayed in a dorm room at Hotel Tuyasto. Love that there were no bunk beds, just very comfortable stand alone single beds. Towels were provided free of charge. Internet was pretty decent despite San Pedro being located in the middle of a dessert. Hostel is about an 8 minute walk from the town centre. Staff were very helpful.
I cannot speak highly enough about my stay at tuyasto. Mathilde and Jose were such amazing hosts- like staying at someone's home rather than a hostel. Great atmosphere. I liked that it was a little outside the town center yet still close enough to get there in 5 minutes. Fine kitchen, wifi a little temperamental but who cares when you're in San Pedro. Comfy beds and ample bathrooms. Met some great people and honestly love Mathilda and Jose. Would totally visit again!
Staff was excellent in providing info on local tours and providing services-taxi, tour pick ups.
Warm, welcoming and friendly hosts Extremely helpful with information regarding tours. Can collect and return to the airport in Calama. Accommodating with numerous individual requests.

The hostel is very clean and incredibly good value for money. It can get get quite cold in San Pedro at night, however our room was very cosy and the beds had several layers of blankets which kept us nice and warm! The owners of the hostel, Mathilde and José, we very welcoming and are nearly always available to talk to should you need anything. Re the showers, the water is solar heated, so in order to have a hot shower you need to go during the day, if you wait until evening the water is cold!
We had a great time at this hostel. It's clean, beds are comfy and the owners are very pleasant and available when you want them to be. The location is not in the centre of town but that's not really a problem because it takes 5 minutes to walk across town and if that's too long for you, you probably shouldn't be staying in hostels! Great place, try the cocineria across the street :)
