Good location, only about 5 minutes walk to the main square. The weather was quite cold whilst we were here, but we were warm in bed. The bedroom was very quiet and the owners are very helpful. As mentioned in a previous review you might want to reconfirm your reservation by telephone the day before.

The location was very good, if you travel from Terminal Terreste in Cuenca you should take a cab (costs around 2 dollars), becuase walking alone with bags and stuffs like that is not so nice. If you prefer to walk dont take the avenue Huayna-Capac around the corner Honorato Vasquez there where a lot of strange and unfriendly people on that street. The owners where nice and friendly, they helped me out with the bus trip to the park Cajas.

When I got there, they didn't have a room for me even when I did reserve in advance. They got us a room after all, but I had reserved with private bathroom and the one they gave us was with a shared bathroom. They were helpful with us in order to get as a place to sleep but then when they told me to put my car in a garage; next day they told me I had to pay $5 and the price was never mentioned beforehand. At least they charged is less money for the room. Good location.

Rosario has a more upscale feel, but much of a young backpacker hip place to stay. Common areas are pretty quite. Overall very nice. We we got there host didn\'t have my reservation so I don\'t think they check Hostels.com bookings.

Hands down the worst place we´ve stayed in 6 countries. They were unaware of our reservation when we arrived even tho they had taken a deposit from Hostelworld, did not have a room ready, never gave us any tourist info or even thier address to find our way back to the hotel. Our room was kind of clean & had no windows that opened. Our host lied to us about having other rooms available. We had to track them to pay & then they tried to charge $8 over & no reciept. Gives Hostelworld a bad name.

While very kind and helpful the staff here speaks only Spanish so be prepared if you don't. The showers can be tepid if you're wanting something hotter so again be prepared. It helps to have your own utensils as the kitchen was a little short on spoons and forks. But overall this is a nice little hostel and the staff are very kind and solicitous and worked hard to make you comfortable and welcome. You can wait a long time for the senora to check you in sometimes.
